Dear Pastor,
We all make mistakes but why have you tried to cover up your DUI and why haven't you stepped down from the pulpit? You are splitting the church!

Everyone is a hypocrite at some point in life. Everyone makes mistakes. His was getting a DUI and hiding it. If you want to be a true Christian, forgive him. No one is perfect not even preachers. God bless, may your church triumph through this tribulation.

A pastor needs to be held to a higher standard and the Bible clearly says he will pay a higher price for his sins. Forgive him yes, but trust him to lead a flock....not when he made the choice to hide it and cover it up. What else is he doing wrong that he doesn't want his flock to know about? How can he in good mind for the last year preach about right and wrong when he was engaged in an act of deliberate deception to his congregation....which also means he could not have truly confessed his sin to God either. He can find forgiveness and restoration but he has to accept the consequence. He no longer meets the requirements in 1st Timothy to be a leader of the church. Pastor, make this right by stepping down and accepting biblical discipline that leads to being restored.

People have already left the church as they no longer trust him to lead them, he needs to do this before he destroys the whole church family.

i agree with you. that is what is wrong with the people that go to church. i feel like im not going to go to hell because i dont go to church. yes, im not perfect, but preachers does need to have a higher standard.

Hum, he broke man's law and God's law and yet he is still the pastor....had he got a divorce with is legal by man but a sin by God he would have been forever tarnished in the good ole baptist church view......pretty funny if you ask me. Nothing but hypocrites....that is all the church is....

It's True....while trying to deal with his father's dying and their negative relationship, Rusty stepped back to another time and a bar and had too much to drink.
He got stopped and failed the breath test....thus DUI....Hurtful...absolutely... Harmful...yes....End of the world....NO!
He told the congreation... they took turns by standing up and speaking their minds and giving him their love and support. No one has left the church that I know of...Some had questions but the best I can tell you is the Deacon body and membership give him their support and love through the tough time.....It was real interesting to see and hear the individuals stand up and ask him to remember when HE helped them with drinking problems, drug problems, marriage problems, and personal problems over the past 15 years.

Christ did not turn His back on (us) and those that were to be stoned, shunned or turned away because of their actions and decisions, even the one, close, personal "disciple" that denied him completely. We that deserve Hell,He accepts because we believe in Him and He believes in us to the point that He forgives us and takes our punishable destiny...can we not do but the same with our brother?

Go ahead and throw your stones. But, one day you will meet the man that knelt and wrote in the sand...something so astounding that the "stone throwers" of that day.....dropped their stones and the woman was without accusers....What are you going to say to Him?

Unlike many of you, I will not hide behind anonymity...I am Richard A. Ballenger Sr. and I approve this message.
he is a fake fraud

Richard, why did he not tell for so long, then only after his mugshot was discovered in the busted publication. Yes, there have been some people leave and will probably be more. Ever member is not peachy with what has gone on we have lost a great amounnt of trust and that is something when once lost is hard to recover.
