All I have to say is it is about time! John Johnson has been one of the biggest obstacles in getting anything in this city done. He should have been replaced years ago. I'm sure he is a nice guy, but he does a terrible job at managing this city. Karen is the only one on city council with balls big enough to finally call him out. The mayor and the rest of the city council are blind to what actually goes on in this city and they hope that the rest of us are too.

I don't know much about him, but I haven't heard anything good about the job he is doing. If the man can't do his job, then we shouldn't be wasting our taxes to continue to pay his salary. That doesn't make too much sense to me, but then again, nothing Jefferson City does really is that logical.

I am not from here and do not know any of these people, but according to what you read in newspaper the city and county both are in bad shape. Apparently, a bunch of ding-a-lings are operating, city, county and education system. You got one person in school system votes no on everything, just wonder if he has kids in system, then the county could not decide on which bonds, why do they not have everything worked out and make a presentation without so much indecisiveness.
Like a bunch of yahoos running everything.

Do you know the name of the school board member who keeps on voting no, on everything ?
It sort of seems to me that the bonds were actually the wool that was pulled over our eyes and no one person can really explain them. Except the part about us paying them back at almost twice their face value.
In the good old day a ding dong and a yahoo were a good thing, but not anymore, unless you own some yahoo stock.

Mr. Johnson should have been kicked out the door and not just put on the hot seat. This guy is the biggest waste of tax dollars in the city. I hope he wises up and starts looking for another job. He has pulled this city down long enough.

People like Jon Johnson are the reason why we can't get anything done around here. City council and the mayor are also to blame, but he doesn't make their jobs any easier.

I hope that we can get somebody in that position that can make this city a much better place. Over the last 10 years the main part of town has really suffered. playgrounds, sidewalks, ballparks and even the community center are all run down and look terrible. This city is bringing in a lot of money, I am just not sure where its going? Anybody know?

He is a good guy, just not very good as a city manager.

Being a good guy and being a good city manager are two entirely different things. I am not so sure a good guy would treat the people of Jeff City the way that he does. Its up to city council to put someone in that position that will do a good job for the people of this city who pay taxes and vote, not just put up with him cause you think he's a "good guy." I am sure there are lots of really good guys out there that would love to help this city out as the new city manager and do a much better job.

This guy just cost the city over $200,000 and he didn't even blink, I can only imagine what else he has cost this city over the years. This was money that was already in our pockets and he just let the the run out. I hate to talk bad about anyone, but Jefferson City is probably one of the worst cities in the county. Yes, we have a Lowes and a Walmart, because we are happen to be on a main highway, but everything else in this city is way behind the times for a city like this. It's such a shame that we have to put up with this type of stuff.

If you guys want to know what kind of wast is going on at The City, you should go ask for the wages of all employees at the city, you can do this by law and they can't refuse its public info, take a look at the disparity between the employees and managment and keep in mind just who makes the decisions also look at job titles and when they were created theres much more here to see in that direction.

I think there is something much more sinister going on at City hall. I can not imagine why they didn't let him go years ago. If I had to guess, I would say someone is getting some sort of perk or kickback that we don't know about, YET. This needs a little investigating. I agree, he needs to go and we need someone in this city that can get things done. He has slowed things down in Jeff City to a crawl.

your right there is much more going on here and its been going on for a long time, its not just John Johnson but the problems do start with him, its the good ol boy stuff going on and not just at city hall, follow the money (if you can)and I'll bet you it leads to recent raises, promotions, or new job titles at a time when by his own mandate no one should get any raises, and some of these dudes make real good money for this erea, the citizens of Jeff need to wake up, did we really need three state of the art buildings or could we have gotten by with just one for now and put some money into our failing infrastructur, like crumbling roads, antiquated sewer, cracking sidewalks, and worn or damaged street signs, has anybody herd of preventative maintenance, missmanaged? I'd say so.

I agree with you completely but keep in mind the longer the city holds the money the more intrest it collects on it, they have been known to do this before and was probly doing that very thing this time before letting it go too long before they have to show results on the grant and got caught with their pants down in any case he should resign at best and save the city further embarasment.

I know, thing is that the city managers position is chosen by the city council members and not the people, we probly should do more to vet the council members and next election choose more wisely, and also blameing them for this is a good idea to, John Johnson has always done things his own way and in his own time and with no one to answer to, mabey now the counsil members will start to care a little more when it reflects on them and there wisdom, and thats something there not known for either. Its a shame our city has to suffer this kind of incompetence.

You will be able to tell who is in cahoots with John Johnson when it comes time to vote him out. City council needs to put the needs of this city first and not their own. There is no reason why John should still be in that position. There are a couple of others that need to be leaving with him and give this city a fresh start.

John has had plenty of time to do something good for this city and he just hasn't come through. He has made it quite hard to do anything good in this town. Its way past time for him to go!

sorry to say it, but John is one giant waste of taxpayer money and city council should be ashamed of itself for keeping him around as long as they have.
