It is probably going to be the same one that is between st. peter and main street in new iberia. It is definitely a very good chinese restaurant. I think the name is "hong kong buffet"
Hong Kong buffet is the same owners as the big chinese buffet that used to be on ambi/caff next to Bennigans. It was called "Buffet number nine"
If it's the same owners, it's going to be dam good. These people put everything on the buffet.
Hai Nam is gonna take a whippin if that happens.
New china is much better then Hai Nam in my opinion.

Part of the reason Golden Corral went under, could have been the lease contract they had. When Bert had it, he was getting the weeny from his landlord. Somehow years ago, the lease price was based on his sales per month. It was something like 6 percent of his gross sales. So if he had sales of 100k his rent was 6,000.00 a month. Thats about 2500.00 more then the place is worth.
As his business grew, the rent grew right along with it. He spent a lot of time trying to negotiate the lease. I never learned the end of the story. But it is possible that the rent continued to be excessive.

It's the next door neighbor, behind the old chiropractic bldg, that is moving over. Got this from a good source. I guess that leaves us with another empty bldg in the City.

realy dose it matter how people type like it even matters so what if some people dont use correct grammer or spell words wrong i for one spell plenty of words wrong and i dont care im human i make misstakes but any way im sad to see it go out of buissness allthough i do wonder if it was just the econmy cause when i went it was sometimes hard to find a parking space

The hong kong in new iberia is the same as owner as the new one in broussard but they do not own grand 9 and the rent on the land next to amb and Johnston is way too high

But they want to buy it, they don't want to lease it. I heard the selling price is 500k
