Well they done it again. Callie Roberts and Dekota Ivie went to the national championship in Fort Lauderdale Florida and won. They both got golds there was over 7000 people there. I think portageville should be very proud of them. Way to go. Mr Deray Ivie for getting them ready.

I am so proud of both of them. They are wonderful kids and I know they work extremely hard and are very dedicated. Congrats to both Callie and Dakota! You should be VERY proud!

They are the ones from portageville that went. As for as the people who donated and help with the bbq. It will be in the paper thanking them. But they are the ones who went and trained like crazy so they could win and we are proud of them.

So the people of this town can hold a BBQ to send some kids to a competition, but then any other time they wont or claim they "cant" raise money for things this town NEEDS?! What kind of BULLSHIT is that?? Its all in who you are, or should I say who your mommy and daddy are...as usual.

kids sold the bbq not the city and the parents give their time to cook and work the bbq for the kids. this has nothing to do with the city. it has to do with two kids from the portageville shcool. working hard so they could go to florida and try to win at national and they did so great for them. and we and the two kids thank everybody that help and gave. we don't want to over look no one.

Like I said, its WHO you are..or what you've got I should say. I highly doubt any of those "parents" would be willing to help things in this town. Its all about what THEY want to do or what they want to have time for...if its anything they dont want to mess with, then they make up excuses. This town is the future of THOSE CHILDREN, and what a shame that none of them are trying to help them. I wasnt downing the kids either...I just get tired of the same old bs around here. Fundraisers, BBQ's, you name it are held when its something "certain people" want to see happen...but if its not what they want to do then the excuse of "we're tired, theres no funds for it..blah blah blah" are thrown around. there is one in every crowd. look, those kids worked hard to do what they did. this was a thread with positive feedback. take it elsewhere.
