the FMCSA should shut this trucking operation down! also if that driver was over hours on his log, his dispatcher and the company owner should be charged with a criminal offense. there are a lot of outlaw trucking outfits out there on our nations's highways. the problem is that there is not enough enforcement. whether it be someone from the FMCSA, highway patrol, state DOT, ect. how many times have you got into your car, drove up the interstate and noticed a trucker breaking the law (speeding, tailgating, following to close, ect) within the first or second minute of driving? something needs to be done, maybe more enforcement! too many people out there are being killed on our highways because some trucker was speeding, tailgating, or fell asleep. that accident should not have happened! another thing that makes me sick is that OOIDA, an independent truckers lobbying group, are always trying to justify the unsafe actions of outlaw trucking companies and thier drivers. they claim its always the 4 wheeler's fault of most accidents involving big rigs, but they have no real data to back up thier findings. according to the national highway traffic saftey administration there are 5000 people per year that are killed by big rigs on our nations highways.

what the problem is with a lot of these type smaller trucking outfits and some of the middle larger outfits are: they will allow thier drivers to run over log book hours (11 hour drive time)to deliver a load, make it look right on paper when the FMCSA shows up at thier place of business for an audit. the company owner and dispatcher knowing that they were breaking the law and risking someone else's life on the highway. when the dept. of transportation mandates the electronic on board recorders on all big rigs, (also supported by the ATA) this will elimate the problem of unsafe trucking companies, make our highways safe again. the dot officer would have a right to plug into the unit at any given time, the unit would measure past history of the truck including 11 hour drive time, and speeding. if any violations are found the officer would issue a citation on the spot.

it is the fault of the 4 wheelers with drivers like you acting like stupid people that cause 95% off all accidents involving a semi. and oonida does have facts to back it up. personaly i think all 4wheelers shouldbe forced to learn to operate a seemi to get there residential drivers licsence. it would be the end of them cutting into front of moving trucks with out looking in the mirror and causing the accidents you are speaking of. other than that,,, run the picks in the damm dich and let'm cry like the babies they are

no they dont have the facts. the government should shut this organization down (OOIDA) for trying to justify the actions of the speeding truckers, tailgating cars also. mr i see it every day out here on the highway. i just saw a landstar owner operator ass end a car because he was following to close and speeding. if your a bad actor as an owner operator, you should be required to have an on board electronic recorder. but i dont have to waist any more energy preaching, thank god for CSA2010, they are doing the job for me to promote saftey on our highways. get them unsafe truckers off the highways!

A Typical Monkeys who respond to what the news says as the gospel
B The driver was in a hotel for 2 days prior to the accident not driving not working but sleeping
C The driver had been driving less than 9 hrs from where he picked up and had a break less than 200 miles up the road where he slept for 6 hrs so he had only been on duty 3.5 hrs
D The NTSB investigated the crash the truck was governed at 65 mph and NO DEFECTS AT ALL WHERE FOUND.
E If you pay attention to the safety rating you will see that most of the neg on it is dated long prior to the accident and the trucking company had had very few violations compared to most in the same amount of time.
F There was ZERO negligence on the part of the trucking company or the driver none at all not even the slightest 100% legal
THESE ARE FACTS the trucking company had received many apologies from numerous organizations that also jumped to the conclusion of negativity but the damage was done 35 people without a job. If you want to be proactive why dont you take a look at your so called big companies safersys score and you will be shocked to find out that they are more deficient by far under the new scoring system than the carrier you all rooted for to go out of business look it up at safersys.org click on company snapshot then put in the name of the company. Companies dont let anyone do anything it happens and they can only respond to it if you knew anything at all about trucking or transportation I would be more than willing to have a conversation with you but if you are gonna believe your local news man who only reads off a teleprompter than you are as foolhardy as you sound the news isnt the news anymore its opinions based on what they want the story to say and the more negative the better just think if someone took every piece of paper and email and post you ever signed your name to then picked thru only the bad could you imagine what kind of person they say that you are think about that before you past judgement. And for the liberal democrat dont judge someone til you have been in there shoes trucking is alot harder than you realize its not a bunch of masked bandits plotting to kill hurt and mame the general public there are knuckleheads as there are in any profession when is the last time you went to the drivers license bureau in a big city thats a crime. When is the last time a mechanic took advantage of a little old lady needing a jump or a doctor mislabels a diagnosis the problem is is that big trucks are highly visible and scary to most cars cause of there size the same as 40 years ago when someone saw someone of color they gripped there pocketbooks and crossed to the other side of the street the point is we villianize what we dont understand or what makes us scared. Truckers arent bad men and women there just a lightning rod for uneducated people.
