Surely your not referring to the one shooting that was determined to be self defense?

let me tell you im originally from jasonville.. and i remember an instance where someone actually got away with being responsible for someones death.. ryan(wont say last name) and another person broke into a house in linton...i dont mention the other persons name because he did his time, he spent almost 15 years in prison.. ryan however, i cant beleieve he actually shot this man and didnt even so much as spend a year in jail, first time offense you know, the man didnt die right away so they didnt charge him with murder.. but regardless he had gun powder on his hands.. but he turned against the other struck a deal..its funny how the law works.. the other was charged with breaking and entering.. he didnt shoot the guy and still got a hell of a lot of time for just being there.. which was justified..but how come ryan didnt? another case that was brought to trial and the man was convicted of murder was Lonnie Buell he killed to women in linton when i was about 12, the only reason i remember this was because they found one of the women in our family lake outside of midland.. so not all greene county murders go unsolved(they still say lonnie had an accomplice)but we will never know..

I too used to live in the Jasonville area. I remember when I was in high school no one was aloud out after a certain time because of people coming up missing (in the late 90's). It was scary.

I'm wondering if Mr, Jeremy Haughter was in HIS own home at 410 locust when this fight broke out and the shooting happenned? You people who keep saying that greene county lets people get away with murder or shooting someone for no reason need to read the stories a little better!
IF SOMEONE BREAKS INTO MY HOME AND THEY FIND ME HOME... THEY WILL BE SHOT! And I do not live in greene county.
Honestly the last two shootings I have read about in the news that came from greene county have been fights in someone's HOME! For goodness sakes people do you honestly feel that if somebody broke into your home and started beating up on you, you would just ask them kindly to stop...take whatever you want and go away????
NOT me!

get a2j, i agree with what your saying, the first kid who was shot in linton, was shot because he was in the other mans home and fighting with him, as far as jeremy goes, i dont know the news hasnt really said what was going on with that. but if it is another self defense case, then thats crazy. i grew up with jeremy but i dont know him now, i still am concerned. i dont blame the other person however if they were trying to protect themselves. but on another note, im from jasonville also, and yes i have seen some people get away with killing another person, the story that cant understand1 wrote is very true.

In reading these old posts. I have to add my opinion.... If you have such helpful propositions of how things should be in these small towns. Move ---run for an office in Jasonville, Dugger, and pick up the pieces...Jobs are scarce if is one of the few that pays well....They are probably doing the best they can...The grass is always greener on the other side.....Just watch where you step.....could any of you from Terre Haute or Bloomington do better... come on down!!!!!

Someone died needlessly.Someone killed someone. It's that way all around the world. The most intelligent animal on the earth is turning more and more into the most brutal, heartless, homicidal animal on earth.I'm afraid it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Yeah, Vigo Co. has a horrible track record for letting killers go. I don't think Greene Co. can compete with Vigo. Or any county for that matter.

Lonnie and Tom Ashton killed those 2 women back in the 90's. They found 1 in a field in Midland and the other was found at Sunset recreation area "about 3 or 4 months aftet she died". Tom did his time but Lonnie is serving about 140 years.
