Motorist Strikes, Kills Rancho San Diego Teenager

A 16-year-old girl was killed late Friday when an SUV struck her along Highway 94 in Rancho San Diego, NBC 7/39 reported.

10-to-one odds this idiotic driver was text-messaging on his/her frigg'n cell phone, looking for a party hook-up. Text messaging is incredibly distracting, and it frustrates me to no end to witness people every day, doing this while driving in traffic! I hope the frigg'n cops took the cell phone into custody, as it may serve as crucial evidence against her for the prosecutor.

OK, first of all Dago, don't just assume that everyone who causes an accident is on their cell phone. And although this is a horrific tragedy beyond any parent's comprehension, what were these girls doing walking on the shoulder at night? There is a dirt path right above the shoulder that they could have been walking on.

LET ME TELL YOU WHY THEY WERE ON THAT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD! fIRST OF ALL, THEY WERE LEFT BEHIND BY THEIR RIDE, AND SECOND, HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THE WALK AREA? TRANSIENTS AND COYOTES COULD HAVE POSSIBLE LIVING IN THOSE BUSHES. ALOT OF THE KIDS WALKING THROUGH THERE WERE ALSO WALKING ON THAT SHOULD IN FEAR OF TRANSIENTS, ETC. DONT JUDGE THESE CHILDREN BECAUSE THE FELT SAFER BY WALKING THROUGH THERE. ISNT IT A DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITY TO DRIVE SLOWER DOWN THAT ROAD KNOWINGLY THERE WAS AN EVENT AT THAT SCHOOL AND OTHER CHILDREN WERE WALKING!! My heart goes out to you and the family I go to steele canyon and make that walk quite often and this worries me that has happened. The school is deeply saddened by this as they were when zach died last year. I think I may have known you and am personally along with the rest of the school very saddened by this. To the family keep on pushing through this difficult time and some day you will see her again in heaven.

This was a tragedy for everyone, from her family, friends, school, and all the drivers who stopped to assist, as well as the fire, paramedics and law enforcement. I can assure you that the six vehicles that stopped were all doing well below the speed limit that night, due to the time of day, how dark the road is and the event at the school. I hope that everyone keep’s Bianca’s Family in their prayers!

As a mother of a 16 year old daughter I can only imagine the pain the Santana famiy is feeling and my heart goes out to them. This is not a time to point fingers and question why they were walking on the road. The bottom line is a tragedy happened to a bright beautiful young girl...lets focus on what we can do to make our community safer for our children! To the Santana family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

As a mother of a child who knew Bianca and also attends Steele Canyon H.S. I was there Saturday evening when the media was there, myself another parent and 3 girls parked at the horse stables and let our girls walk on the path that most of you wonder why the girls were not walking on. I can tell you why, not only at night are there coyotes or transients, there are snakes and ants the size of a pincher bug. There is no way I would let my child walk that path at night.

The real issue that needs to be discussed her is what can we do to prevent this from happpening to another one of our children. Do we petition to have lighting in that area, do we ask for barriers to be put in place that would allow the students to walk along that road? These are the questions that need to be answered right now.

I will continue to pray for the Santana family and all those who stopped that night to do their best to help Bianca. Time will heal the wounds, keep talking to your children, hug them and be there for them.

bianca was an amazing and wonderful girl, daughter, friend!!! she was my little sis best friend!! my prayers are for the santana's family!! remember her laught, jokes, and all the good memories she left us with, i remember all those time she ask for my help and i was there for her!!! im always going to remember the time we went to the park to play football...
