Vendors go to the dogs at Dutch Festival
#1 Jul 26, 2009
I noticed all the doggie treat vendor at Dutch Days, as well. What I thought was just ridiculous was some of the prices for that stuff. Seriously...$12.00 for a doggie treat (and I only noticed that at one vendor - some could have been more)? In these times, are people REALLY buying that stuff? I love my dog, but I would NEVER pay $12.00 for a treat to last all of 2 minutes, if that.
If you've got that kind of money to blow, take your $144 (assuming you are only buying one a month) and write a check to a charitable organization. Your gift would last much longer!!

There was a gentleman from Dillsburg selling dried fruit - mango, banana, and such. He gave me his card, saying that he has a small farm store and I could get dried Kiwi there, but I lost the card. Does anyone know who he is? Please help...

I was in line at Kennies the other day and had a 50 pound bag of Purina Dog Chow under one arm. The lady behind me in line looked at me and actually said, "Is that for your dog?" I said no, actually it's for me. You've never heard of the Purina Dog chow diet? She looked at me a little crazy, so I explained; It's really simple. Purina Dog Chow is the most perfectly formulated food for all around health. You've never seen a fat dog that only eats Purina. All you do is just find out how much of it actually makes you feel comfortable and not hungry, and eat just that much every day and no more. You can even keep some in your pocket and snack. Of course, I haven't been feeling so well since I got out of the hospital the other day. She said, "Oh, did it make you sick?" No, actually, I was laying in the middle of the road licking my balls and got hit by a car.....

I did buy a little bag of sweet potato dog treats for only $3.50. I know it takes a lot of time to make that stuff for dogs and even list the ingredients right on the package (only 4). I appreciate that, but could not spend $10 for a big bone because that only last a day with my dog.

I know there were other dog vendors there and they were not mentioned in the article. I bought a dog bed from the Puppy Patch and was wondering if anyone knew how to contact them. They made beautiful handmade dog clothes and dresses. I compared priced and for one dollar more then PETCO, I could have things made for my two labs. My sister also wants one of their beds for her maltese.
