Why would the boys Basketbll coach instruct a top scoring player, that he shoots too much & not to try & score last night and who knows how many other times players have been told the same?

Now think about that... Do you really think that is true.. Unless the player was having a bad night and was still shooting.. I mean use a little common sense...what did this certain player tell you this? Maybe he was just making an excuse for himself...

After past games, I have talked to players and been told the exact same thing.

It's way past time for a new basketball head-coach at Y.A.I., amongst others.
And those waiting in the wings are no better.

The absolute best choice in the County, get the York Elementary boys head-coach and put him in as the Y.A.I. head coach.

Happy to see the Y.A.I. girls doing much better after their terrible coach got shown the door. Now if they will be smart (not usually a Y.A.I. strongpoint) and hang onto their brilliant volunteer assistant things will continue to get better.

The next high school coach will be the York middle school coach. Derwin will finally retire.

York doesn't have a middle school. Please quit retiring people that don't wont to retire because you want your son to play all of the time. Haven't you caused enough trouble this year!!

I've already been told Derwin is far from thinking of retirement and YAI is not planning on replacing him. For one thing, there's no one any better to replace him with.
What should parents do with sons coming up that want to play hs ball though? Clarkrange is doing good but they play a cushy district and York has won about 5 games in the past 2 years. So how does a parent decide? Focus on another sport??

Certainly Y.A.I. will have no plans to replace any losing coach, the school loves a coach with a losing record but who can play the administrative game well up there. It's been that way for a few decades now.

Sure he could be replaced with a much better coach, but why buck the trend now? LOL!

Most really good basketball players are only "built" for basketball, of course there are exceptions.

I bet the boys would be better off coaching themselves.

Hmmm, why does Y.A.I. continue the contention with sports? Probably because it helps to keep peoples mind off the academic horrors like Math teachers who won't grade practice (LOL! Homework!) that they assign, and the fact that they refuse to have a Chemistry lab, etc... etc...
