You actually have the balls to sit there and call us babies?? I'm stunned. I know one thing, when us farmers go on strike and let you and obama go hungry, well see who's the baby. Tenn can do just fine on its own. This out of control government spending has to stop! This country is NOT a democracy and the constitution gives a a right to secede. Oh but wait, you wanna burn the constitution..... I guess we're screwed...

A huge bloc of voters, who live off the government, just pushed us a lot closer to Socialism. That is not to say that everyone who voted for him was on some type of welfare, but most of them were. There are a few of you out there that can not see beyond that "D" that Obama has so successfully hid himself behind. Once upon a time being a Democrat meant being an advocate of democracy. This is no longer true, thanks to the "progressives" that have overtaken the party, but you are going to go down with that ship. I am sure if Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, etc. succeed from the union, there are plenty of blue states that will welcome you Socialists with open arms....until the money runs out.

Ignorance and fear are conservatives best friend and worst enemy......rural states cannot survive without urban states and visa versa......we are all in this together so stop with the "i take my toys and go home BS"....America needs those who defend her not those who cry when they dont get their way.

I doubt that they will get the votes withing their states to do it but if they do, you are right we will be in a full scale civil war. What I d see is a lot of trouble ahead. I think the turmoil we had in the late 60s is going to be minor compared to what we are going to have very shortly..

The democrats say leave the country if you don`t like it, well I know of one business here in town is doing just that. Guy owns a garage, he is moving to Mexico, right across the border. He can get labor cheap, is taking to mechanics with him. People will be able to cross the border to get their work done. He does good work, so he will get the business. He laid everyody else he had working for him off. Others will follow.I do not knoe of one single business in this town that is owned by a democrat, there may be some but I have never heard of one or met one. Some farmers are democrats but they are not very big, they work for the state or federal government and farm small time, likely to get the tax breaks.I guess we will see.

All 50 states have now got a petition to secede. One petition is interesting and that it mentions making a state pay it`s share OF THE NATIONAL DEBT BEFORE IT IS ALLOWED TO SECEDE. I mentioned this issue on the other thread regarding secession.

If we have a break-up of the country it will be over the debt.

Will nation 'submit to government without limits'?

Published: 17 hours ago
by BOB UNRUH

Contemporary opinion, including that of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, says a state’s right to secede died with the hundreds of thousands of bloodied victims of the Civil War and that the sentiment behind the dozens of petitions on the White House website seeking permission for most of the 50 individual governments to leave the union will be fruitless.

But historians would note that Thomas Jefferson, a “pole star among political philosophers because he based his politics on the eternal, self-evident, fundamental truths that all men are created free and equal and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inherent and inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” believed states have a right to leave the U.S.

It was in a letter to William B. Giles on Dec. 26, 1825, that Jefferson addressed the issue after participating in the fight over separation from England, the rise of a new nation and the tribulations it faced in its first decades.

In a letter marked “not intended for the public eye,” Jefferson wrote that states “should separate from our companions only when the sole alternatives left, are the dissolution of our Union with them, or submission to a government without limitation of powers.”

He continued,“Between these two evils, when we must make a choice, there can be no hesitation.”

His letter, posted online at Constitution.org , sheds light on the arguments raised on the Obama administration’s online petition site, where dozens of petitions are seeking permission for virtually all of the states to leave the union.

I have no doubt that an attempt by any state to secede will result in martial law imposed by the federal government within that state. Such an act will impose unmentionable misery on the population. A mass secession by a number of states would result in civil war.

I have been in a number of countries that were involved in civil wars and the misery imposed on the general population is hard to describe. People are hungry, sick, infested with parasites, famlies are forced into refugee camps, law and order breaks down in uncontrolled areas, militias and gangs control these area. Happiness is a dry fart. I don't think the American people who I see walking around are willing to live that kind of life . Politicians blow hot air from both sides, people need to stop and think before they take a step that would destroy everything they got . I say this because , in a civil war this will happen. The waring armies confiscate any personal property that is of any value.

This is the day of snipers and IEDs, in a civil war environment it would be almost impossible to carry on normal life as Americans know it.

We need to stop and think about the consequences of auch a move before it starts.I have been in a number of countries involved in civil wars and they are not fun, kids walking around with one arm, blind people , some with no limbs, flies blowing them because they can`t fight the flies off, nobody to help them. The smell of gangrene and sewage that will make a maggot vomit. That is civil war. I have seen it. If you can`t handle this kind of environment get up go about your business, then you won`t make it through it.

I have seen the fat butts on both sides that are talking trash and most couldn't walk five miles, let alone do it with a full field pack, suffering from dysentery, a diet consisting of what ever they could scrounge to eat. That is civil war and secession will mean civil war.

A civil war is a nasty business for sure. But it looks like elements may force it onto the people. The ones I see all in favor of it are the marxist ideologues who have burrowed into government crevices like ticks and are working night and day to tear down our Constitutional Republic and are currently arming bureaucrats to the teeth with billions of rounds of ammo and sundry Arms (illegally by the way) as I type.

Hear is the marxists take on it...

Secession from tyranny is a peaceful prospect that is guaranteed to Americans.

The only howling madmen around are the murderous marxist ideologues wanting to hi-jack the Constitution.

The Conservative states of America could handle a war better than the Liberal states of America ever could.
