If he can't sue the Sheriff's Dept..I suppose the County would be something to consider...some one needs to be held accountable...
I thought they already have been held accountable. Ohhh, did you mean pay out a ridiculous amount of money that the tax payers pay for? Seems like everyone is looking more for an easy buck, than for justice. |

I don't know the boy who got shocked, but I think he should sue.
You should ask yourself, "how would I feel, if I was at Wal-Mart, bent over, sifting through items on the bottom wrack, and one of the Wal-Mart employees came up to me and tazered me with several thousand volts of electricity?" I don't think any one of us would say that we'd brush it off like nothing happened! What I want to know, is why isn't Peters in jail for assault?!?!?!? That was assault! He was a police officer, and he knew the pain it would cause. He flat out assaulted that boy! |

I just had to chime in here..........
I've got an itching feeling that the ones who voted "no" on this thread, only did it because they know that us tax payers are going to pick up the bill of the law suit! Hmmmmm......I wonder what will go up? Will it be land taxes? Wheel tax? It will be something! Why doesn't Chucky take some of that drug money that he's always bragging about, and pay off that boy? |
I think it was not Chucky or the county that shocked that guy. Most of you people are not looking at the facts.

But Ted, Peters was employed by Chucky and the county. This was not the first time that Peters had used his stun gun as a joke. He also had previous dealings with the victim, which the victim had made complaints about. I do know for a fact that there had been several complaints about Peters to come into the sheriff's department over the years.....not assaulting someone with a stun gun, but other things like writing tickets when the driver had done nothing, bullying out of county teenagers cruising town, etc. Just because Peters was a police officer, everyone overlooked it, because our word is nothing compared to a police officer's. Now don't get me wrong.......I think Chucky is doing a fantastic job with cleaning up the drugs, and I greatly admire him for that......but this was not the first time that Peters did this. That's what gets me! If this had been a one time thing, I would just chump it up to a young mad acting stupid, but Peter's had become very arrogant with his position, and I'm glad to see him gone. I'm sorry to see this effect all of the good things that Chucky has done.

1 If the person was assaulted, the only person who should be sued is the one who did the assaulting. Should the company or facility he was in be sued? No. Should the taser company be sued? No. |

The office he worked for knew of his rude behavior long before this happened. The one in charge of the office was responsible for getting rid of this jerk before things got worse, in which things got worse!...So yes, the county should and probably will be sued....and yes we will all pay the bill for peters stupidity!

1 it was the county's fault we are the ones who put them dum asses in there. so we need to pay the man. |

i agree with you.. |
you tell'm dearie! That young man needs to sue for all he can get from this county. If the citizensx don't like it when their taxesd go up, well then maybe they will remember this stun gun incident come election time again huh! Besides if not this reason to raise taxes they will just find another reason. |
chris peters worked for the county and chucky cravens so hell yea they ar e 1/2 respon. |
Ta heck with the taxes!....we are all taxed to death anyway....and at this rate there will be many other expensive lawsuits during the course of the current administration of our elected officials. We will have to pay for them too!..
Their ignorance won't suddenly stop just by getting rid of one bad apple....the whole bushel wreakes of rottin stinch already!.....It is pitiful! |

I AGREE WITH NANAD THAT GUY WOULD HAVE BEEN PUT AWAY AND MITCH WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE TO HOLD HIM WHILE HE COULD BEAT HIM THEN WRITE A REPORT OUT THAT THE GUY STARTED AND BYDOD HE WASNT TAKEING THAT.
I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining about the taxes. Well, I do complain about taxes.......but if they go up because of this suit, there's nothing that we can do. Heck, I'd sue the county too! If it wasn't for this suit causing the increase of taxes, it would be something else. I was just taking a stab at how corrupt our local gov is. They will raise our taxes every time someone in the courthouse wants a raise, anytime an elected official needs to pay his way out of a jam, etc. |
Would you people please quit saying sue the Sheriff's Department and/or the County. If he sues the Sheriff's Dept., he IS suing the County.....Duh!!!!
Also, the county has insurance to cover this so it won't come directly from our taxes. However, our taxes do pay the insurance premiums and we will sure see a difference in that premium after this. And to "mother of one".....you say he is suing because he can't let this crap happen to anyone else. Problem solved. The one who caused the crap has been fired. Don't suppose your friend has changed his mind about suing now has he? Maybe it is about the money after all. |
Why doesn't he just sue Peters? Is it because he thinks he can get more money out of the county?
WELL OF COURSE it's about the money! DUH! Isn't that what all lawsuits are about? DUH! GET REAL MAC |
Well, Fart, according to "mother of one" he's suing just so this won't happen to any other poor soul. |
