Has anyone heard about the tragic accident in Scott County that killed someone from Fentress County and 4 teenage girls. We really all need to pray for the families and the communities.

No one in the SUV had on seatbelts??
When are people going to learn that a sb can save lives.

I am praying for those injured and the families that lost a loved one.

Very tragic :(

Seatbelts can save lives the vehicle caught fire and burned after they wrecked. the 4th cheerleader that died had been thrown from the vehicle, we need to pray for the familes and not try to second guess what happened and why, i couldn't imagine losing one of my kids, i family lost two daughters,my heart goes out to all involved

The some of the info in the article is incorrect. The man is the husband of the woman that died and is 49. Somehow the police got the age messed up and it originally reported him as 22.

Although seat belts do save lives, in this accident it would not have helped. The SUV burst into flames immediately upon crash.

Although seat belts do save lives, in this accident, it would not have prevented the deaths due to the SUV burst into flames immediately upon crashing.
May God be with each family that lost loved ones in this accident. May He give them peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I very seriously doubt that seat belts could have saved their lives.... Ashley only lived as long as she did because she did get thrown out. She was the only one that was not burnt. My prayers go out to all the victims!!

Sometimes seatbelts save you and sometimes they can cause your death.

My brother just had a motorcycle accident this past Sunday. He was not wearing his helmet when it happend.

The surgeon said that had he had his helmet on he would have died because his head would have bounced around inside the helmet causing more damage to his head than what he recieved.

38 stitches in his head, many cracked ribs, clavical, foot, leg & knee now have pins in them and 3 more surgeries to go.

You just never know.

I wear mine because its the law. When my time comes there is nothing I can do about it.

My son would have been hurt very seriously in a motorcycle accident years back if he had not had on a helmet! It is better to be safe than sorry, and in Tennessee it is the law.
I am aware of the TN helmet law. My brother lives in Oklahoma, not sure what the law is there regarding helmet usage.

He wears it to and from work, but was on his dinner break and going just a block up the road for a bite to eat.

Also the type of wreck can make a difference. In my brothers case a police car pulled out in front of him and when he made contact with the car it threw him over the car.

I too would wear a helmet when on a motor cycle.

I had a relative to get killed years ago she was weraing a helmet and the helmet was a defect. The company was at fault. But my cousin was still killed. The helmet busted apart. she was only 21. Helmets wasnt even the law.
