Do you people buying 30 cases of drinks at wal mart on your food stamp card really think other people dont know what youre doing? Trading for cash or drugs idk which. You come in here with 2 carts of drinks and hold up the line for everybody else so you can abuse the system that hard workers like me fund by ACTUALLY GOING TO WORK AND EARNING A LIVING! Of course u probably dont care because you have no sense of pride to begin with. Lots of proud white trash everywhere around here

So many abuse the system and why don't they have to pay back their tax return to the goverment when they get it.....if your on assistance and get food stamps and all the other help and have been helped for yrs it's time to pay back what was given to ya....I see it all the time some of these people have more compare to the hard working ones and get it all free....food stamps and help with any assistance should just be until you get on your feet not forever....some of these people as I said have more better cars compare to us, campers, boats, they go on vacation and yes buy cigarettes....do you have any idea how much they get per child on a tax refund....it's needs to be paid back and not used for luxury items....

My daughter works and has two kids and she gets food stamps and she doesn't abuse hers. She spends every bit that she gets for food. I agree that there are people that abuse it but not everyone.

some just dont get it food stamps are an individuals right, and to spend as one sees fit. one of the major requirements is refuse to work, give in to being low life, and to kiss every politians among others behind and do it publicity with no regards or regrets and be proud of this achievement. thanks

Your right not all abuse the system but 9 out of 10 do and will when given the chance, at least some are working I see so many that aren't they just sit around and collect while us hard working folks can't get ahead because the price of food, medical and some of us don't get tax returns. I have been in line with some of these people and man they just think the systems owes them, get off it if you can and I say it should be mandatory that people go around inspecting what you have, home, property, vehicles and other luxuries, produce your sales receipts.....if you need to live by means so be it but don't abuse the system there are people out there probably too proud to ask....I have seen working people that abuse it and a spouse stays home or they live with their parents.....they all should be drug tested too....

Thats where you are incorrect... food stamps are not a right! And yes people like you just dont get it. One of the biggest commonalities that perpetuate problems in poor towns and communities is deadbeat dad's.

don't forget no good gold diggin trash that move in and steal from children to feather their own greedy nest and inbred offspring. that's just as big a problem as deadbeat dads if not worse here.

My daughter has a deat beat dad with her kids, but she is doing the best she can, they are not inbred offspring either. She works 40 hours a week, rents a place, doesn't have a car and does the best she can. You can't compare everyone on food stamps just because of some

i didn't say it was your daughter, there are plenty of examples to go around. now calm down. funny thing about the internet, everything that is said, is interpreted as being about the reader. i just think that it should be pointed out that not only men are capable of being sorry and no good.

In her case. she is doing the right thing and as a taxpayer I have no issues with her getting help. However, the ones who make a "career" of getting every government aide and do nothing but get high and smoke cigs make it tough for the true ones who are doing the best they can.
And when someone is buying 30 cases of sodas, it is not going to the kids in the family. It is going to feed their drug, nicotine or otehr bad habits.
I know of a deadbeat relative who has a new home, decent car, medical insurance, free heating, food stamps & disablity check for her anxiety. She has never worked a day in her life but the kicker is she puts down she is separated from her husband and he files the kids he doesn't pay support on his taxes and gets back over $5000 per year. They spend their money on beer and cigs and then state how they are entitled because they are poor and have medical problems. They are in better health than me and most others but yet have more than most hard-working people do. They have it better than your duaghter who is trying.
The selling and trading of food stamps have went on for years and has gotten worse. It is a way of life and a subculture. If someone works, they can spend their money on luxuries such as soda, beer, tobacco, etc but if they are in need of government assistance and does not even try and work, then that is wrong. But like someone said, 9 out of 10 would rather stay home than work and make less.

Don't get too upset over harsh criticisms of food stamps. Single parents, struggling families. elderly are not the ones many are upset at. It is the career cons that make it so obvious that they are selling sodas bought by taxpayers money. They drain resources for ones like your daughter who are trying to do right and take care of their kids.

I know I shouldn't have been offended, butI agree with what most of you are saying. Before I was laid off, I worked with a woman, who husband was on drugs and she had three kids, he didn't work and she got over 600 a month of food stamps, and would let people use the card in exchange for things. People like that do annoy me, wouldn't it be nice, and I agree all people who get any help, should take a drug test, damn, us working people have to in order to get a job, makes no sense that they don't do this, but thats system.

Us tax payers that get a job we do have to take a drug test...so let the ones on welfare/food stamps pee in a cup too....whats good for one is good for all and if your getting assistance I say pee in the dam cup!!!!

Too there is so much stigma related to food stamps. The typical stereotype makes it tough for ones who do need the assistance. In my field of work (nursing, I saw so much abuse of the system. Some people that abuse the system have the attitude it is no big deal but it is enormous the amount of welfare fraud that is reported each year (and prob a small fraction if it). Small towns, people pay more attention to what the other person is doing - esp when someone is using a food stamp card and getting a buggy full of soda. It isn't right to be checking out how people pay for things but many people do. And then some are pretty blatnet about trying to sell sodas so they tell on themselves.

I do not think the government really wants to crack down on these abusers. The relative I referred to in an earlier post would be notified before inspections and have her husband leave. Some know how to work the system.

I am just as furious at the people and store owners who buy the drinks from these dead beats. They are just as bad. If there wasn't a market they could not do it.

I must say you are a good example of a bad example, though.
