There was a nurse there when I was in the hospital that seemed wonderful. Then I found out later he had been booted out for his drunkened state, I don't think he drank on the job. just came in hung over with the smell of beer / liquor on him all the time.

You don't have to look far to find great nurses there. They (the nurses) really care for people there at jrmc.
I am just glad the male nurse with the long hair is gone.(not willing to post his name) But the administration knows his background extremely well. And knows by hiring him in the first place a bad mistake was made.
Not that he wasn't a good nurse in some ways. Just his crude behavior and thinking he needed the medication more than the patients did, made it hard on all of us trying to be helpful.

The nurse you are referring to quit he was not let go! I think before anyone continues bashing him on here you need to get your story straight or keep it to yourself!

I think JRMC is a good place to put a hospital if they ever decide to build one. Right now it cant even be considered a hospital in my book because of the patient care you dont recieve. It is a pathetic joke. I speak this from experience. My family member just had surgery there and the patient care was non-existant. What a sad place to be if you are sick or dying.

No one is bashing him, here, or anywhere else on topix, that I know of. If you were truly one of his friends you would take him to Manna house or somewhere like that. Anyone of us that worked with him knows he has a real "problem" no matter even if you did like him, the truth is the truth.
and I know for certain he did not leave of his own decision. Don't kid anyone, especially not yourself, ma'am. If you worked with 'him' you would know the truth.

There are many great nurses and many good nurses at JRMC. Likewise as with all places of employment, there are a few who possibly got in to healthcare for the wrong reasons or lost their passion for the profession.

Having worked there, I can tell you there are nurses who have left there because of the constant turmoil and inconsistency among leadership.

Amen to that, he caused so many problems on my shift I hated to come to work. I absolutely hated to see such a good man go down the tubes, and from what other nurses have told me he is worse that ever. Maybe one day he will see the light. I have been seeing one of his friends and he said there is no hope for him. His personal life is shot. And everyone he did know, or worked with hates to see what he has become and they avoid him.

Well I hope all of the mess is getting better that has been going on for some time there.
Whew. Can it get any worse than it has been lately?LOL
It looks as if there were anywhere in the world where people should do there best and not be drunk and high it should be the hospital. Is this not the truth? What is up here?

I think it is getting better every day. All of us don't like the white uniforms we must wear, but all in all things are going great there. We have lost some good nurses dues to problems in administration, but that will works it's self.

I for one think the hospital is wonderful now and always has been. Why would anyone have anything but great things to say about jrmc?

The people there are our family members and friends, and they care about serving us with compassion.
You'll find the same level of skilled care at about any facility, but your local people really care.

I will have to say "Bull Shit". The patient care is terrible. I speak from experience. I would be afraid to leave a family member there without staying with them.

I've been a student nurse at JRMC for the past few months, and I must say that I've had some great learning experiences there. Is the care always delivered at 100%? No. But is it at any job? any other hospital? People will always find something to complain about. But, and I say this regarding my experience, in a lot of circumstances, it is the patient--not the nurse--that makes the hospital stay difficult and unpleasant. To better one's health, it truly takes a team effort, and I've seen instances where the patient did not want to be a part of it. If the patient is too sick, I understand. But after he/she becomes better, you have to "turn, cough and deep breathe" so fluid doesn't build up in your lungs, you've got to get up out of bed and walk a few steps so you won't get a blood clot, etc. To be in a hospital and to expect to get better by only taking antibiotics and pain medication is simply ridiculous.

Wow, Girl! You need to be recruited, and bribed if necessary, to get you to stay here. You express yourself in a very professional, proper, and grammatically-correct manner, and your written communication skills will be a huge benefit to any institution that hires you.

While there are several wonderful female student nurses about to graduate, there are also three exceptional male students.I think jctintn happens to be one of those male students. And you are correct in your statement that he should be recruited.
