The jail will make money by taking in imates from other jails throughout the State. This jail will be able to house Federal imates. Most jails are over populated with sorry no good people. There is money in crime.

We had no choice. The stae was going to shut us down then we would have to build acording to federal standards which would have been three times as much money

It has been designed and is being built to Federal Standards. This is a State Law for reconstruction or new construction. They will also have a special cell for people with aids.

Well, enough is enough!! People have been told the truth hundreds of times by the local government and a handful of people seem to think they know everything, well they do not!!!! The ONLY way your property taxes will go up today is IF the State of Tennessee raises them!!!! 2013 is the year that the state re-evalutes the value of ALL property in the state!!! Fentress county property tax rate will stay the same or maybe go down, since there is a limit on how much the county can collect from property owners to pay county debts!!! Building a new jail is a county debt and will have to be paid, and NO one will have TRUE figures until the jail has been in operation for at least ONE year. For God's sak people or person, use common sense instead of evil gossip!!!

Isn't it generally standard procedure to have someone that is qualified to oversee that the construction is being done properly on construction this expensive?

It can hold more than 125 with just doing some minor changes.Very inexpensive..Many of the cells were built with that in mind by having the cells built big enough to do that.

Some people just refuse to accept the fact that the jail would have been decertified if it wasn't for the fact that we are building right now.Look at Putnam county right now..They are sending many of their prisoners to other counties now..They just do not want to hear the facts..The tactics some people used delayed the construction of the current facility and cost the county nearly 1/2 million dollars more..Can you imagine how much more it would have cost us if we would have waited until the jail inspector decertified us and the State Fire Marshall shut us down to start plans on building a bigger facility? Can we say millions more?

Are you sure that it is not normal to have an overseer for big jobs like the JC?

Did you like that picture of all of us on the front page of the courier last week? GH is the 10th from the left by my buddy Margaret Range and good ole Leonard. We have the whole crew of the famous ten and Jim Romer. Everyone who we own is in that picture and they are good honest people who only tell the truth and would never tell a little ole white lie. You can take that to the industrial board, I mean the bank. Wink, wink.

I just hope that the judges here will stop "slapping criminals on the wrist" and actually put them in jail where they belong. I am so tired of seeing people get away with the same crime over and over again. There are laws for a reason and I wish that our county would follow them!!

No one, and I mean NO ONE can answer where the operating expenses is going to come from for the jail. Some will say this question has been answered time and time again on here but it has NEVER been answered.

If so people, answer it again for us.... please!

Nope.Several of us have answered it...Re-read past posts. The bottom line is that you do not like the answers given, but it does not make them invalid.
