Really interesting and makes you think. I disagree with the statement about pot being a gateway drug. I think people have levels or something that makes them more prone to addiction. It just seems like young people seem to gravitate towards marijuana and if there was something in their disposition that led them towards addiction than marijuana would be the gateway. Collage kids drink alcohol to an extreme but it does not make all of them an alcoholic. When I had surgery, pain medicine made me extremely nauseous. I had to decide whether I wanted to be in pain or throw up. I wish there were more alternatives for cancer, RA and extreme pain. Time is a factor as to when they come up with a pain medicine that is not addictive. Until then, if marijuana helps to control nausea and pain than I hope the choice can be given to a person in that situation. Pain makes for a miserable life.

Wow, so from KY you have worldwide figures that prove that not one single human being ever on the face of the earth has ever overdosed on pot? Wow, you have to teach me your secrets. What about synthetic marijuana? Where is your stand there? By the way, we have had kids in Fentress County get very sick from smoking it, so let's hear it.
<quoted text>
i have done research on it. you would find the same thing out if your researched it yourself. It's called being educated.

As for the "synthetic" weed, it is bad. I am not taking about "fake" weed, I am talking about marijuana; and what adult would give this to kids? Again, irresponsible people making irresponsible decisions, and this is going to happen regardless if mj or medical mj is passed.

I hope for the future of this county that some time soon something changes or our beautiful county will be so poverty stricken that it will take a miracle to save it. I personally think what this whole state needs is to legalize marijuana. It would help our local economy and in places where they have legalized medical marijuana, prescription pain pill use has dropped. Think of how much the taxes on that 5 Million dollar indoor grow operation would have boosted our economy. We live in a prime area for outside growing, it could be what saves this town. I saw a documentary that said in Humboldt County California which is in the Emerald Triangle Phillip Morris has bought over 50,000 acres. Their climate, soil, and conditions are similar to ours. If Phillip Morris Company is thinking ahead then I believe it may be in our nations future! As for me I hope and pray it is in our future. Right now I have to take xanax and Klonipins to control my anxiety because I have to have something to help me. Chemicals that make me not myself because if I smoke marijuana instead of taking the pills then I am considered a criminal I think it should be my choice on what or how I am medicated.
I so agree with you. There are so many people that could benefit from the jobs that growing marijuana would create. We are struggling so bad to support our families.

my points too have been that it should be a patients choice on how they are medicated. There is such a difference in mmj and prescriptions; I know the difference, but I dont like being made to feel like a criminal or a sinner.

we can only hope that it does pass, so that we do have a choice, and maybe there wont be so many prescription overdoses..

I totally agree. It would spread out the money made from it's growth if it were legalized. No one is going to stop the growth of it, so do it legally. But laws could be changed to curb the sale of prescription drugs.

Are you people wanting to buy marijuana by the pack like tobacco cigarettes or prescription marijuana?? It is still against federal law and the states who legalized it is for MEDICAL marijuana. This will NOT help people who smoke NON-MEDICAL marijuana. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

So are you honestly ok with giving pot to kids? You say not synthetic, but you didn't refer to the real stuff..

okay, i didnt realize that i had to draw pictures here. you must not have read all my posts. of course i am not ok with giving pot to kids. i hope this picture is clear enough for you. I am talking about adults who are capable of making conscious decisions on how their medical conditions should be treated for pain.

I am for legalization mj period, but medical mj is an issue that i truly believe in.

clear enough? i also do not agree with giving children alcohol, tobacco, drugs, caffine, sugar or let them watch sponge bob

The question is, who wins? Fine, as an individual it is your right to feel that mj should be legalized, but it also my right to feel it shouldn't be. So who wins? I know the one who get shte most votes, but I mean morally who wins this battle? It';s a dead lock, you feel how you feel, and I feel how I feel. You have your reasons and I have mine. I am fine with agreeing to disagree, but when it starts to the point of legislation how do you handle it?

Man,those guys sure came up with the bond money real fast!Do guys really think they will show uo in court? How many people in our judicial system do you think grow or have grown pot?How many So-called Christians smoke pot? They attend church to be socially accepted then it is One Toke over the Line Sweet Jesus,One Toke Over the LIne.Good old classic rock song.As CDB used to say I dont Want Much of Nothing At All but I will Take Another Toke. No, I do not smoke pot or anything else but I know some people need it for various ailments.I do not think God condemns pot any more than smoking cigarettes.

It may not be a gateway drug for some, but there is no doubt in my mind that it is for most people. My brother would be the first to tell you that he loved smoking pot,but he increased his smoking more and more to get the same buzz.He eventually turned to harder drugs to get the buzz he liked, and now he stays in a drug stupor all the time, and his health has deteriorated quite badly because of it.
What kind of help did you get for him and why did you HAVE to stay with him?

they do not need a tv in their bedroom either . Send them out to walk, run and play. Any physical activity. Keep the physical body active. They will do enough electronics.
