Is that holy roller church still there in Jamestown? The one that pretty much plays music the whole time during the service nad the people running it their women dress all scantily clad like Desperate Housewives.
I thought that was 90% of church.

I personally don't attend that church. But I do want to say, people can worship the way they choose as long as it isn't for just show but that is between them and the Lord. No one should throw off on a church. With the way the times are getting everybody needs to be in church. I couldn't imagine not having the Lord and going to go thru what this world is going to go thru. Dont make fun or judge, if you dont like the way a church is doing go to another.
Bolt Thrower, I see you are obviously a non believer and for that I will pray for you. It is so easy for non believers to judge those in church. And I have heard sinners call the church hypocrits, but like I have always heard..."I would rather go to church with the hypocrits as to go to hell with them."

Cause that's whats most important at Church
Obviously you need to be in a church if you are going to judge another. All you should do about hearing of churches like this is pray for them. Not get on Topix and judge. That doesn't make you any better than the ones you are judging.

What ever happened to going to church to worship in spirit and truth, without ever one else judging them. Shoud "respect" any and all churches as God's house, and just leave them alone. They will answer God for how they worship. Go try it, you may get saved and like it.

I am going to take a step out and say the people that are bashing this church are probably people that have never experienced the freedom that comes in being FREE TO WORSHIP!

I AM FREEE TO RUN,
I AM FREE TO DANCE,
LORD I AM FREE TO LIVE FOR YOU,
I AM FREE!

Psalms 98:4
MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD!

Roman 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Matthew 7
Judge not, for whosoever judges, shall be judged with the same measured in the same way he is judging others!(I am paraphrasing this, please go read for exact words!)

Yeah you may say why is she paraphrasing, well got you to go pick up the bible yourself, and look in the word did it not?

The person who started this thread had obviously NEVER been able to stand in God's presence and worship him FREELY, without being embarrassed what the person looking at them will think if they go to raise their hands in worship or say anythign out loud to praise Jesus!

Matthew 10:39
Whoever is ashmaed of me before of me before men, I will also be ashamed of them before my father (this is Jesus speaking to us)

I AM FREE TO RUN,
I AM FREE TO DANCE,
I AM FREE TO LIVE FOR YOU LORD,
I AM FREEEEEE!!!

As far as all the singing and dancing goes

Pslam 98
Make a joyful nise unto the Lord

As far as all the speaking in tounges go, or words you do nto understand and think is fake gibberish!

Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Please do not Judge peoples way of worship and having an actual REAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. For that is what we were put on this earth for to Love and adore and praise him! To help bring people to him. Not Judge others for their own way of doing the right thing!

Matthew 7
Judge not, for what judgement you judge with, you shall be judged!

Some people like myself, do not think we should have to sit quietly before the lord. The angels in heaven are singing constantly. The 4Cherabums in revelation are standing in a circle 24-7 singing HOLY HOLY HOLY!!!...LOOK IT UP PEOPLE..YES REVERENCE THE SPIRIT, RESPECT OUR GOD..HECK EVEN FEAR HIM..DO NOT HOWEVER BE AFRAID OF HAVING A EAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM..

You get excited about sports, you jump up and down for your kids when they do great or your team on tv wins..why not jump and down for the man that created you and loved you enough to actually die for ya?

I don't go to this church. But I do know that the preacher and his wife are wonderful christian people. If those of you are critical of this pastor would only be willing to give 1/10th of your time to help others as this pastor does, then you would be a much better person. Trash talk like this will not deter what God is doing in this church.

I do not bash or downcast anyone for how or what they beloved in personally. You and everydody else shall have and do have the freedom to do so. I hope this will never change in my lifetime. I fought for your right and shed blood for your right to do so as an American. It does not matter what or how I personally feel or what I believe in.

Yeah I am assuming you do nto have very amny youth that stay intrested! This is sad! The bible says "come like little children unto the lord" I bet Jesus does not mind it!

I attend Live in the Spirit. We have singing for about 45 min-but I don't see anyone rolling in the aisles- hands are raised in worship. Pastor & his wife are wonderful people with only the best for the congregation. There are various levels of Sunday school-appropriate for age and the youth groups are full of energy for the Lord. They worship in dance, singing and playing of instruments. What a wonderful and uplifting 2 hrs, modest dress of everyone. If you are bored with your sermon this is the place to be. God bless us all-no matter where and how we worship.
Thank you to those that have fought, or lost their lives so I can enjoy this freedom

Organized Religion get them in the door and pass the plate. If we don't get enough the first go around past the plate again.

You Guys Need to re read this entire post topic. I'm pretty sure that only the first post and then only maybe 3 or 4 more are even talking about that specific church.
The rest are mocking modern day churches in general with the whole "I wish our church had...." The majority of the posts on here are making fun of the churches that have turned to totally trying to please the cool crowd and kids and are becoming more like social clubs than they ever have before.
The one that mentioned all the stuff mockingly and then at the end of their post said "Because that's whats most important at church" was spot on the money in its sarcasm.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think church should be just old and stodgy either, but you know the difference in what is right or not. I don't profess to know what Jesus would think about it all but I imagine it that there is a good possibility that some of the stuff these churches have to "lure people in" would get thrown out onto the church lawn...just like when he overturned the merchants tables.
I'd almost bet the nintendo and xbox would get tossed.
Oh shut up you [email protected] whiner.
