Obama has the White House and Democrats control the Senate and they are directly responsible for the failed economy
The thousands of regulations strangling small business? That is demagoguery and lies. That statement by GOP propagandists is never followed by a concrete example of one regulation and its relative importance to our economy; nor can the propagandist explain WHY the 2010 Tea Party majority of our House of Representatives (hah!)has not worked without ceasing to repeal any such regulation and save us.

Yes oil lands are leased and leases on private lands are between the company and the landowner. The terms and conditions of leases on public lands are subject to negotiations, just as private leases are. Notice I posted after adding a "reasonable profit" for the risk of drilling etc. IF there is as much oil as these companies claim there is under public lands, they should be willing to negotiate the terms favorable to the American consumer since that consumer owns the oil under those public lands.
IF an oil company would offer this kind of arrangement, I suspect the American public would feel much better leasing their oil to that company AND buying the final product from that company....not to mention the generous subsidies we give them each year. That is too much to ask since they are all in bed together with our elected reps, who give them whatever they want for some pocket change dropped into reelection coffers.
I have a meeting to go to "Vet" so I will talk to you later ! Keep on keeping on !!!
The radar shows lots of rain in your area now, OT, I wish the Midwest could get some too, the corn crop has been devastated. I notice you backed off on dictating the marKets for the oil. The oil companies will always negotiate the terms favorable to their companies because they have paid for the oil. Fredom of choice, liberals love freedom of choice, applies to American companies too, free trade, yes.

Good question, but I fear they are so numerous its impossible to list most/all. Mr. obama stated he would eliminate the coal industry and that is exactly what the EPA has done with their costly and intrusively ridiculous regulations. I read an article just last week, about a new EPA regulation required for the coal companies and the product needed to be purchased to comply, wasn't even invented (sorry so vague on the specifics). Another area is in the food industry and the EPA's assertion that quite suddenly, there is a problem with disposing of used grease. I'm sure you have heard the stories about farm-kids now not able to drive tractors or use power tools...the list just goes on and on and on.
I agree there are a lot of things that are out of line. With the nuclear mess in Japan the EPA keeps raising the safe limits as the radiation keeps rising so this seems strange yet nuclear is I believe worse and less able to control for safety then coal.
GE is in the reactor business and good benifits seem to be going their way.
I think solar maybe hydrogen is where the effort should go as much as possible. Oil will not let anyone cut them out.
Watched this documentary and thought many answers lie with what they were saying.

(1) Moral high ground in what?

(2) Stop the insane Obama spending? First, stimulus was necessary to push back a real 30's style Depression...it was only a fraction of what Obama requested, the total of which would have created more jobs, would have grown the economy and boosted revenues ----at which point the meeting at the table Obama suggested to cut about 4 trillion from the deficit would and could have happened! Ang before your eyes get that characteristic glaze-over, the European Community nations now realize that their slashing/austerity programs did not work---that they should have grown their economies first.

It seems if the Feds create a boom by throwing out lots of cash and cause a depression by pulling all the money back in and then buying up the spoils and others hard work, then don't they control the jobs?
The power to do this pretty much controls every thing.

Posturing! Those clueless whiners should have taken the "regulation" problem to their Tea Party saviors in Congress who were elected in 2010 as the majority to save them!

Please, just once, would they tell us a specific regulation and its importance/contribution to the economy? Then would they tell us WHY their Tea Party saviors did not begin work on repealing the damned thing their first day in the House of Representatives?

There are lot of liars. Most of us tell them through lack of knowledge, but your GOP and its handlers with Koch Bros. and big corp.'s money know that they are conning us.

Actually, no, you are not right. You said "ALL" of them included taxes, the cite I furnished clearly proves your mistaken assertion.
I find it incredible that you think its "fine and dandy" mr obama directly ignored a federal judge's order to allow people to go back to work in the gulf drilling for oil (and all the ancillary jobs associated with that), resume their lives, feed their children, pay the mortgage, and yet have the audacity to think that is a bad thing. Several of the "job bills" I furnished was simply an effort by pubs for people to have jobs, that is why they are CALLED job bills....which the democratic senate has refused to even debate. Actions DO speak louder than words.

As far as keeping money going around, ya might want to read-up on what Reagan did to end the depression during his time. He lowered taxes so jobs could be created, a wider tax-base was then created, an era of prosperity ensued. Just lowering taxes was not the key, it also included a business-friendly atmosphere (no EPA harrassment).

Well E, I read your bills, and while I don't agree with all the deregulation in them, you have made a couple of points that hit home this morning. I don't think some of the regulations are as bad as the pricks they put in place to do the job (or not do their job) of enforcing/regulating them. I guess that would be a catch 22 because to have the regulations, the pricks come with them, and they are what I am having a problem with lately. I have been online all morning getting names and contact info to go to war with TVA over their permitting process, or lack thereof. They are taking 60 to 90 days to do their job (which used to be 15 to 30 days), and in the meantime putting many people in "ancillary jobs associated with that" out of work, and it makes it even worse that it seems to be an assertion of power for them. Many in this sector have struggled for two years trying to stay in business, and now that the business is good again, they are squashing it with their not so "business-friendly atmosphere". I will get off my TVA soapbox by saying that I would liken it to shutting down an 8 year olds lemonade stand for lack of proper licenses and permits!

WASHINGTON — A federal judge has struck down a key provision in an Obama administration regulation that would have penalized education programs whose graduates end up with huge debts and low job prospects.
The Education Department's "gainful employment regulations," which would have gone into effect Sunday, were designed to prevent career training programs, mainly at for-profit colleges, from leaving students with unaffordable debt and limited employment options.
At least colleges are fighting back against the proliferation of regulations coming out of this administration. The thousands of regulations now being written for Obama Care were the direct result of the House, the Senate and the White House being under the control of the Democrats. The Republicans all voted against this tax raising, job killing Obama Care.
Paragraph One: So the Obama Admin. wanted to protect post-grads from excessive debt in the face of low job prospects? And a federal judge struck down the provision, and you are proud of that?(I do not believe that higher institutions always have the good of each student at heart. You do, vet?)

Paragraph Two: I have no doubt the college industry wants to sell their product! They are no doubt perturbed that any regulation would protect students rather than the college's interests.

Regarding your source, I see you are proudly pasting such unbiased news sources as Fox/Faux News and Newsmax, etc., and without naming the source!

And to thank GE, Obama is for insourcing, using tax incentives for those who do bring jobs back, and eliminating the Bush tax cuts for the upper 2%. Not much of a gift to GE, hunh?

I believe most Tea Party representatives ran and were elected upon a platform of deficit reduction.

Previously, I cited 3 EPA regulations (out of a myriad) that were business-hampering/job killers.

Evidently, you don't realize people in glass-houses shouldn't throw stones. A report was issued this week that organized unions spent just as much in political donations (80% to democrats) as individual donations. I just want to add 2 words to that: George Soros.

PAMPLONA, Spain -– Declaring Spain’s deep recession a new “reality,” Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy announced nearly $80 billion worth of spending cuts and sales tax hikes Wednesday to try to pull his government out of the red.
The new austerity measures come a day after Rajoy won European Union approval for an up to $125-billion bailout for Spanish banks, weighed down by bad real-estate loans from the country's housing bubble.
EU finance ministers also agreed to give Spain an extra year, until 2014, to meet its deficit-cutting targets. Madrid’s budget shortfall last year was 8.9% of gross domestic product, nearly three times what EU rules allow.
“We have to get out of this hole, and we have to do it as soon as possible. There is no room for fantasies," Rajoy told the Spanish parliament. "This is the reality. There is no other.”
You are a little off in your timing, Spain is now slashing due to the cradle to grave socialism of the past many years. Most of the rest of Europe is in the same condition, they are being forced into extreme austerity measures due to failed socialism. The same socialism that is failing in this country.
Or ...They could have pulled an Iceland and told the Banksters to shove it.
Iceland is in recovery.
Who else is?
