Only a totalitarian state disarms law-abiding citizens: we want no more oppressive gun laws
By Gerald Warner

You could not look for a better encapsulation of the mentality of the state-worshipping ruling elite than the claim by Sir Ian Blair, former disastrous Metropolitan Police Commissioner and newly-appointed peer (nothing succeeds like failure), writing in The Guardian on the topic of gun control:“The possession of a firearm is a privilege, not, except in a few cases, a necessity.”

Have you got that? The possession of a firearm is a “privilege”. In fact it is nothing of the sort: it is a right, guaranteed to all British subjects by the Bill of Rights of 1689.

Government plans huge sell-off of Britain's forests
By Andy McSmith
Monday, 25 October 2010

The Government is drawing up plans to sell off publicly owned forests in a move that could see private developers allowed to clear ancient trees to make way for holiday resorts, golf courses and adventure playgrounds.

The plan is designed to raise funds to help to pay off the Budget deficit, but has been met by opposition from some of Britain's highest-profile nature lovers.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs plans to dispose of about half the land looked after by the Forestry Commission, raising fears that the trees will disappear to be replaced by amusement parks and other ventures. The Forestry Commission holds about 1.85 million acres of woodland, about a third of which may be sold off, in one the biggest land sales in British history.

Laws governing the forests date back to Magna Carta in 1215 and they may have to be changed to facilitate the sale.

Brits may have tired of "eating cake". The article is a bit shallow though as it ignores the rape and pillage bit played by the Banksters against the Brits.

RACIST TODDLERS MENACE BRITAIN

By Lee Duigon

NewsWithViews.com

What hope is there for a civilization governed by delusional maniacs?

The Western world’s big crusade, these days, is to stamp out “hate” and “bullying.” Our administrative class tries to do this by bullying people into submission.

With such a lofty enterprise in hand, our social engineering crowd—politicians, teachers, police, and the usual sordid mix of bureaucrats and self-anointed experts—perform actions which are very difficult to report. Readers think you’re putting them on. The line between news and satire has been just about erased. Case in point…

“Education authorities” in Britain are now keeping permanent records of “racist” or “homophobic” remarks made by children—yes, children—eleven years old and younger: some of them as young as three years old; the thought police are busy in the nursery schools.(Source:“’Racists’ aged THREE: Toddlers among thousands of children accused of bigotry after name-calling,” by Kate Loveys in The Daily Mail, Sept. 14, 2011) The children are deemed to have been guilty of hate crime. A record of the offense will follow each child throughout his entire school career and will be made available to college admissions officers and even employers for the rest of the three-year-old criminal’s life.

No, this is not satire. I’m not just making it up.“Figures… were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act” by a civil liberties group, reports The Daily Mail.

Children to be banned from blowing up balloons, under EU safety rules

By Bruno Waterfield
Brussels11:47PM BST 09 Oct 2011

Children are to be banned from taking part in traditional Christmas games, from blowing up balloons to blowing on party whistles, because of new EU safety rules that have just entered into force.

Whistle blowers are now classed as unsafe for all children under 14 Photo: ALAMY

The EU toy safety directive, agreed and implemented by Government, states that balloons must not be blown up by unsupervised children under the age of eight, in case they accidentally swallow them and choke.

Despite having been popular favourites for generations of children, party games including whistles and magnetic fishing games are to be banned because their small parts or chemicals used in making them are decreed to be too risky.
Apparently harmless toys that children have enjoyed for decades are now regarded by EU regulators as posing an unacceptable safety risk.

Whistle blowers, that scroll out into a a long coloured paper tongue when sounded – a party favourite at family Christmas meals – are now classed as unsafe for all children under 14.

Schools ban children making best friends

Teachers are banning schoolkids from having ‘best pals’— so they don’t get upset by fall-outs

Harry Hawkins
Sun
March 20, 2012

… Educational psychologist Gaynor Sbuttoni said the policy has been used at schools in Kingston, South West London, and Surrey.

She added:“I have noticed that teachers tell children they shouldn’t have a best friend and that everyone should play together.
“They are doing it because they want to save the child the pain of splitting up from their best friend. But it is natural for some children to want a best friend. If they break up, they have to feel the pain because they’re learning to deal with it.”

Russell Hobby, of the National Association of Head Teachers, confirmed some schools were adopting best-friend bans.

The Ugly Brutishness of Modern Britain

A demotic egalitariansim, allied with multiculturalism, has rendered civility passé.

By THEODORE DALRYMPLE
April 19, 2012, 7:18 p.m. ET

A few days ago at a crowded bus-stop in the city of Nottingham, a fat youth of about 13 started to throw food at a friend. Some of it nearly hit me and landed on the ground just beyond me, making a mess.

"Excuse me," I said to the youth, "could you pick that up?"

"Shut the f— up!" he snarled, with real hatred contorting his face.

Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, in England, come—obscenities. No one at the bus stop dared say, much less do, anything. For increasingly, the English are a people who know neither inner nor outer restraint. They turn to aggression, if not to violence, the moment they are thwarted, even in trifles. And those who are neither aggressive nor violent are by no means sure that the law will take their side in the event of a fracas. It is better, or easier, for them to pretend not to notice anything, even if it means living in constant fear.

Warning over 'busybodies' given legal right to fine and demand information as numbers surge

Thousands of civilians are part of a growing busybody army with police-style powers to fine and to demand personal information.
Civil liberties group the Manifesto Club yesterday warned that the ‘extremely dangerous trend’ is resulting in police powers being handed out ‘like sweets’.

There were 1,406 official ‘snoopers’ in 2008 but their ranks – which include traffic marshals, private security guards and street wardens – have swollen to 2,647.

In broad daylight, he and an accomplice had just repeatedly stabbed and tried to behead an off-duty soldier in front of dozens of passers-by.
