Number Of Nation's Sheriffs Refusing To Enforce Unconstitutional Gun Laws Snowballs
January 24, 2013

By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.

From Florida to California, a growing number of the nation's sheriffs are standing up to gun control measures proposed by both the administration and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

Many law enforcement officials have written letters to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden voicing their concerns over what they believe is an effort to infringe upon the Second Amendment.

In New Mexico, 30 of the state's 33 county sheriffs have reminded state lawmakers that they are under oath to support the U.S. Constitution, and that includes the Second Amendment.

Pinal County Sheriff Babeu sends letter on gun control to President

Posted: Jan 25, 2013 9:30 AM
by Faye DeHoff

The letter as written by Sheriff Babeu:

January 16, 2013
President Barak Obama
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20501

Dear Mr. President,
Last year, I was re-elected overwhelmingly to my second term as Sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona. The citizens of Pinal County have placed their sacred trust into my hands and the hands of my office to keep them and their families safe.

Our nation has seen several tragic attacks against innocent adults and children by criminals armed with guns. Because of these attacks, many politicians including yourself have used these tragic events as a means to push their agenda related to "gun control."
America has seen an even higher number of our citizens killed by impaired drivers involved in automobile collisions. Why are you not seeking to remove vehicles from our roadways?'s because you realize it's the drivers who are at fault and not the vehicle they were driving. This same analogy holds true with these's not the gun that's at fault but rather the criminals who use them. Do you honestly feel that
any criminal or someone who is mentally ill will obey an executive order made by you related to "gun control?" Criminals get their name, because they don't follow our laws already Mr. President.

I have sworn a solemn oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America when I was first sworn in as an Army Private, later as an Army Officer, then as a Police Officer and now twice as the constitutionally elected Sheriff. You too Mr. President have taken the same oath, therefore I am gravely alarmed - just as most Americans are that you would attempt to circumvent the Constitution of the
United States.

The most important office in our republic is that of a private citizen. You are not a dictator or a king, who can act unilaterally and ignore our legislative process of law making. All elected leaders are empowered as a trustee of the people we are elected to serve. We are given designated and limited powers. Your actions and quest for unconstitutional power threatens the future of our sacred Republic and the Liberty we all hold so dear.

Your own administration during, "Operation Fast and Furious" facilitated and approved the transfer of over 2,000 weapons to the Mexican Drug Cartels who the Mexican Government is at war against and over 60,000 people have been killed. Those same weapons have made their way back into the United States and have been used to kill and injure our citizens and members of law enforcement, yet now you threaten to use
an executive order to take away the 2nd Amendment Rights of our citizens?

Mr. President, if you attempt to carry through with your proposal, it will hinder the ability of good citizens to defend and protect themselves and others against those who wish to cause them harm through the use of deadly force. Your actions would turn many good citizens, who wish to maintain their God given Constitutional Rights to bear arms, into criminals.

I am writing you this letter today to inform you that any "law" or regulation created by an executive order of your office which is contrary to what the Constitution of the United States of America says, shall be deemed as unlawful and shall not be carried out by myself or my office. I will also push for legislation which would make it a crime for any federal law enforcement officer to infringe upon any of Constitutional rights of the citizens I am sworn to protect. Neither myself nor you have any right to infringe upon the 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights of our citizens.

Effort to abolish local sheriffs a stealth federal power grab?

A news report has been quietly making its way around the alternative media, under the radar screen, concerning a Delaware legal decision to strip county sheriffs of their arrest powers in the state.

The mainstream media has not reported the story, but the son of Vice President Joe Biden, who serves as Attorney General for the state of Delaware, has issued a mandate to county commissioners informing them that sheriffs in the state's three counties no longer have arrest powers.

When the information reached this reporter late yesterday evening, further investigation revealed that there is a nationwide effort to strip local sheriffs of most of their enumerated powers that are mandated in the state constitutions of the various states. Such a move would have the net effect of abolishing local sheriffs departments and strengthening the power of federal law enforcement agencies.

Sheriff Urges Citizen Firearm Defense: "We're Partners Now"

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Sheriff David Clarke
"...your safety -- it's no longer a spectator sport; I need you in the game. But are you ready?"

Amanda Warren
Activist Post

A public service radio announcement from Sheriff David Clarke encourages Milwaukee citizens to consider getting certified safety training for handling firearms to protect themselves. He reminds them that with police force cutbacks and furloughs, police arrival time has changed and waiting for police after calling 911 is not the best option. He gives three options - begging for mercy from criminals, hiding under the bed, or fight back.

But are you prepared?

"It's your duty to protect yourself and your family," he says. He sends both the personal responsibility and power back to the people. "We're partners now. Can I count on you?"

How do authoritarians and totalitarians usually gain power?

One of the tried-and-true methods is to foment social chaos.

It happened in the Bolshevik revolution.

It happened in Adolf Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s.

It happened in Mao’s “cultural revolution.”

It’s important to understand – and this is hard for most of us – that crime and mayhem and lawlessness are actual goals of transformational socialists.

Chicago is ablaze with violence. More people are killed there than in all of Afghanistan where the U.S. still has thousands of soldiers deployed.

Colorado Sheriffs: Senate Dems. Threatening Pay Freezes Over Gun Control Opposition

Claims law enforcement are being blackmailed into backing down

Steve Watson
Mar 11, 2013

Sheriffs in Colorado have accused Senate Democrats of threatening to withhold pay raises as payback for the law enforcers’ opposition to multiple draconian gun control bills currently making their way through the legislature.

El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa told a local radio talk show host this weekend that he had been notified by lobbying group The County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC), that “the Senate Dem leadership is very upset with the sheriffs and their opposition to the gun control bills.”

Law would fire sheriffs for defying gun control measures - Texas:

"The first effort emerged in Texas. Legislation proposed by Dallas Democratic Rep. Yvonne Davis would remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws. What's more, it would remove any elected or appointed law enforcement officer for simply stating or signing any document stating that they will not obey federal orders. A gun lobbyist told Secrets, "Beware because once something like this is introduced in one state, it will be followed very quickly in several other states."

The bill is H.B. 2127. Pray tell, Ms. Davis - just how do you intend to remove any sheriff in this state? They are elected by the people. One can hope that since our state legislature is controlled by Republicans, both houses, with a Republican governor, that bill won't stand a chance. Texans might want to call their state rep and tell him/her you're outraged Ms. Davis has introduced such a bill.

It's not just a nationwide effort to limit their power, but to abolish the office of sheriff altogether. Mark my words, it's coming.

As sheriffs across the nation signal opposition to enforcing additional federal gun regulations, the Utah Sheriffs' Association sent a letter to President Obama assuring him that its members similarly will not comply.

The letters insists that the rights of Utah citizens trump any new gun control measure that Congress might pass, and sheriffs in Utah are prepared to trade their lives in defense of their constituents' right to keep and bear arms.

The letter, signed by 28 of Utah's 29 sheriffs, sternly rejects the citation of recent tragedies as Congress's rationale for expanded gun regulations:

"With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is also foolish and prejudiced. Firearms are nothing more than instruments, valuable and potentially dangerous, but instruments nonetheless. Malevolent souls, like the criminals who commit mass murders, will always exploit valuable instruments in the pursuit of evil. As professional peace officers, if we understand nothing else we understand this: lawful violence must sometimes be employed to deter and stop criminal violence. Consequently, the citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect from all kinds of illegality.[original emphasis] the duly elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend on our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights--in particularly Amendment II--has given them. We, like you [Mr. President], swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation."

Federal Framework Being Set Up To Arrest Sheriffs

March 30, 2013
Ken Jorgustin

Colorado, and apparently Texas (next) are being targeted with an attempt to set up a federal authority framework that will enable Secret Service agents (not just those guarding the president), and others of the U.S. Secret Service including uniformed division officers, physical security technicians and specialists, and other ‘special officers’, to arrest and remove an elected sheriff for refusing to enforce the law (or anyone breaking the law).

The bills being introduced defines law as including any rule, regulation, executive order, court order, statute or constitutional provision.

Why are they doing this? Here’s why…

It would establish federal authority police powers in a State, enabling an enforcement arm reporting directly to the president (Secret Service).

It would enable the president / executive branch to theoretically override the actions and preventative measures that are now being taken by many States throughout the country who are trying to preserve 2nd Amendment gun rights and who are prohibiting the enforcement of unconstitutional law passed by Congress or pushed by executive order.

As some of you may know, a growing list of sheriffs (more than 340 so far) across the country have expressed that they will not enforce a Washington mandate that clearly violates the Second Amendment.

Many State laws to preserve gun rights are gaining momentum. States include Montana, Ohio, Kentucky, Idaho, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Utah, and New Mexico.

However, in Colorado, Senate Bill SB-13-013 has evidently just passed, and is now ready to be signed by the governor, giving police powers and arrest authority to the federal/executive branch of government (Secret Service) within the State. In Texas a similar bill has just been introduced in the State legislature.

The president and vice-president Biden have been actively pursuing state legislatures and pushing for passage of the bills. Obama is scheduled to visit Colorado in just a few days.“Colorado is a pawn for the Obama-Biden plan,” and then on to the next… at least those that won’t fall into line.

It is a full court press by the federal government to empower themselves even further by inserting themselves as police authority within the state, to eliminate opposition.

Colo. undersheriff warns: State police, Homeland Security to target Christians

According to a letter written by Ron Trowbridge, undersheriff with the Prowers County, Colo., Sheriff’s Office, Christians who believe the Bible is the literal word of God and others who do not agree with the changes taking place in America could find themselves under scrutiny by law enforcement authorities and Homeland Security, Steven H. Ahle wrote at Red Statements Friday.

Trowbridge, a law enforcement officer with many years of experience, told Ahle that he recently attended a training session in La Junta, Colo., where, he says, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Joe Kluczynski gave a 2-hour presentation on the "sovereign citizen" movement.

"Kluczynski spent most of his two hours focusing on how, in his view and apparently the view of Homeland Security, people turn to the sovereign citizen movement," he wrote.

According to the FBI, the "sovereign citizen movement" is made up of "anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or 'sovereign' from the United States."

These people, the FBI says, do not believe they have to answer to any government authority and can cause a number of problems for law enforcement authorities.

But according to Trowbridge's letter, Kluczynski went much further, including "those who believe America was founded on godly principles, Christians who take the Bible literally, and 'fundamentalists'."

"Kluczynski did not explain what he meant by 'fundamentalists' but from the context it was clear he was referring again to those who took the Bible literally or 'too seriously,'” he added.

These people, Kluczynski reportedly said, have a right to their beliefs, but needed to be monitored by law enforcement authorities.

Trowbridge said that according to Kluczynski, these individuals and groups are "dangerous" because they are "angry over the election of a black president."

When an attendee suggested the economy was probably more to blame, Kluczynski "intimated that those who are not going along with the changes in America will need to be controlled by law enforcement," Trowbridge added.

"Kluczynski even later questioned some of the troopers present if they were willing and prepared to confiscate 'illegal' weapons if ordered to," he added.

According to Trowbridge, Kluczynski said he was leaving the CSP to work with Homeland Security.

"I thought he was perfect for the job," Trowbridge wrote.

News of the training comes on the heels of a report at that says "Colorado is being targeted with an attempt to set up loopholes that will allow the U.S. Secret Service to arrest and remove an elected sheriff for refusing to enforce the law, or anyone breaking the law."

Recently, Colorado passed several sweeping gun control measures and some county sheriffs, like Weld County Sheriff John Cooke, have said they would not enforce mandates that infringe on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Trowbridge's entire letter can be seen here.

Mark Kessler could be the most dangerous man in America, but if you tell him he is, he’ll say he doesn’t care.

Yesterday, an interesting event was held in an obscure Pennsylvania town: the first meeting of the local “Constitutional Security Force”. Spurred by a perceived overwhelming encroachment of the Federal government on personal liberty and private property, the meeting was a somewhat clichéd gathering of rural folk, some clad head-to-toe in camouflage.

But what keeps the “CSF” from being a bad episode of National Geographic’s Doomsday Preppers is its founder: Gilberton Borough Police Chief Mark Kessler.

Kessler is a no-nonsense lawman whose primary influence in politics and values appears to have been his father, Joseph Kessler, a man who served with distinction in Viet Nam.

In January of 2013, Kessler made the national scene by submitting a resolution he sponsored for consideration by the Borough council. Unanimously adopted, the resolution is quite astounding. It essentially nullifies all Federal, state and local gun control measures.

All federal, state or local acts, laws, orders, rules or regulations regarding firearms, firearms accessories or ammunition are a violation of the 2nd Amendment along with Article 1, section 21 of The Pennsylvania Constitution and in violation of this resolution.

Further, the resolution proclaims that Gilberton public officials do not recognize said “unconstitutional restrictions” on the 2nd Amendment and requires those representatives to adopt or enact any and all measures as may be necessary to prevent the unconstitutional enforcement of any federal, state or local acts, laws, orders, rules, or regulations in violation of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States along with Article 1, section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution “The right to keep and bear arms”.

Yes, Gilberton Borough is a small province boasting a population of only 867 but a local resolution of this magnitude is brazen, indeed. Not since the sleepy town of Kennesaw, Georgia made headlines with its 1982 ordinance requiring every household have a firearm in it has such an official statement been made in defiance of state and national authorities.

News of the Kessler resolution spread like wildfire and the police chief received calls for interviews from sources all over the country to include nationally-syndicated radio talk show host Alex Jones.

Contend Democrat-led gun-control package unconstitutional

Published: 1 day ago

Exposing the disconnect between Colorado politicians and the law enforcement officers charged with upholding the law, more than half of the sheriffs in the state are planning to file a lawsuit against recent gun control laws passed by Democrats.

The lawsuit was announced by Weld County Sheriff John Cooke on Tuesday. Cooke has previously said he will not enforce the new gun control laws, because he believes they are unconstitutional.

“The legislators ignored the will of the people and passed these unconstitutional gun laws, and they need to be held accountable for their decision,” Cooke told WND.

A Colorado Sheriff Responds To President Obama

Published on Apr 3, 2013

President Obama visited Denver on April 3, 2013 to push his excessive gun legislation. Not one sheriff in the state of Colorado was included in the event. The sheriffs of Colorado representing 62 counties were kept out of the event because their legislative needs were not useful to the president. Obama's purposeful shunning of the state sheriffs could not silence them. Listen as Sheriff Shayne Heap from Elbert County Colorado responds to the president's comments.

Sheriff Bradshaw and the Palm Beach County Psihuska

William Norman Grigg
May 6, 2013

“What does it hurt,” asked Sheriff Ric Bradshaw of Florida’s Palm Beach County,“to have somebody knock on the door and ask,‘Hey, is everything OK?’”

The answer to that question obviously depends on the identity of the “Somebody” who is making that inquiry. What Sheriff Bradshaw had in mind was a strike force composed of deputies, social workers, and “mental health” professionals from a “Behavioral Sciences Unit”(BSU) who would be on-call twenty-four hours a day, ready to be deployed to visit the homes of what the Soviets used to call “socially dangerous people.” In the Soviet Union, such people would often be involuntarily committed to a psihuska, or psychiatric prison.

“We want people to call us if the guy down the street says he hates the government, hates the mayor and he’s gonna shoot him,” Bradhsaw told the Palm Beach Post in describing the BSU, which would be funded through a $1 million grant from the state government. That grant hasn’t been formalized, but if the state legislature balks, it’s quite likely the Feds will chip in: In a speech last February 6 to the Alliance of DelRay Residential Organizations, Bradshaw said that he would prefer to fund the unit “through a federal grant.”

This is precisely the kind of pilot program the Feds would find worthwhile – indeed, it represents a model of “preventive intervention” that the federal government has been promoting for at least two decades.

'You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal or you can fight back'

Published: 1 day ago

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr.
ST. CHARLES, Mo.– The cop who told the citizens of Milwaukee to arm themselves against violent criminals has now been crowned the “Constitutional Sheriff of the Year.”

Wisconsin’s Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. received the award Friday at the annual convention of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, or CSPOA, in St. Charles, Mo.

Clarke became national news in January when he released a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office public service announcement inviting citizens to join him in the fight against crime by learning to defend themselves from it.

“Simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option,” the PSA states.“You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed or you can fight back. But are you prepared? Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

Members of the CSPOA were so impressed with Clarke’s PSA...

Why Is Homeland Security Taking Control of Local Police?

Saturday, December 7, 2013 10:20
(Before It's News)

A key plank of the Obama administration platform seems to be the conversion of the local police into a fifth branch of the U.S. armed forces.

The means of accomplishing this goal is the doling out of millions of dollars from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to police departments and sheriffs’ offices around the country.

Cash-strapped local law enforcement gobbles up the federal “grants,” purchasing military-grade vehicles, weapons, ammunition, and surveillance technology that would make the National Security Agency (NSA) proud.

For a list of the largesse and an inventory of the incredible equipment it finances, we rely on local media reports.
