Republican Elephant = Upside down Stars

Why are the stars upside down on all the republican symbols? They could have just as easy put them right side up... I know they don't mean anything satanic or anything silly like that, but why are they upside down?

The pentagram and pentacle , considered by many Christians as signs of 'the devil', also have a benign history. One of the earliest use of the pentagram was as a symbol of the goddess Kore, also known as Ceres. The Greek Pythagoreans considered its geometric symmetry to be a sign of perfection. The ensuing symbol, known as the sign of Baphomet, has been adopted to signify the Church of Satan and other Left Hand Path religions.

Why would the GOP put it on their elephant?

I doubt it was just like:

"well the artists messed up and put all of our stars upside down, bob" "oh no problem tom, no one will notice"

I hardly think that would have flown with the conservative christian constituents of the party (which there are a lot of)...

there has to be a legitimate reason...

actually, yeah, there are some in the military, the medal of honor, for one... maybe in some other branches, I think there is some in Navy Ranks but... why are those there? All of the texts I have read about the Medal of Honor and it's symbology never mention WHY it is upside down...

interesting though that America's Highest Award (that the recipient of MUST be saluted by every member of the Armed Forces including 5 star Generals) has Minerva, a Roman-Pagan Goddess inside an upside down star and no one has ever really said anything about it... LOL...

From what I have read, the symbol for the GOP was changed 7 years ago. It used to have stars right side up.

The new 2008 logo with the blue elephant is particularly bad. The single star is right-side up, but it's positioned as the "eye" of the elephant - Cartoon for "roadkill." Ew.
And the elephant has flag stripes on its back, but the stripes really should be red and white, not blue and white.
And the elephant is standing on its back legs, with weird, snake-y trunk and tail. The tusks are strange, too.
It looks like it was designed by a fifth-grader (no offense, fifth-graders!)
And the elephant seems to have an awkward, wide stance...

The republican party is supposed to be the party with the religious vote and yet they flip the stars upside down which no matter what it meant pre-christian days and pre-middle ages when the bible was LOCKED inside the temples and the control freak religious dudes had free reign.

Today, when you flip a 5 pointed star upside down it stinks, and when they cant, wont or dont tell you why and who decided to do it, then it should stink even more. because an inverted star is not the symbol for a christian so either they flip that star back on its feet or christians need to leave the party- come out from among them

Just more proof that Bush sees himself as the antichrist. Why do you think he's brought so much violence to the middle east? It's not like they didn't have enough already. And it's not like a war in Iraq could ever have benefitted the US in any way. Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. Iraq DID NOT pose an imminent threat to the US. Iraq didn't even have those oh so scary weapons of mass destruction.(Even if they did, how would they get them to US soil?)

Bush seems to think he can gain control over the region by destablizing it further. Stupid plan, I know, but has he ever had a smart one? I think his actions have more to do with potential control over the middle east's holy sites and it's non-christian people (remember, the antichrist will have no problem controlling the minds of a huge section of the christian population, since they will see him as a good christian instead of what he really is). This guy is a total whack job and if congress doesn't step in soon, we're all going to be witnesses to the World War III.

By the way, I'm agnostic and don't believe in the antichrist. But that doesn't mean that there aren't going to be nutjobs out there with serious delusions of grandeur that may think they are the antichrist and that they should try to bring about the end of the world for their own sick desire to control everything.

As for the stars....The stars aren't upside down, they are tilted (which given that they are five-point equilateral starts, they look upside down). They are tilted to the right, just like the elephant is always facing the right. I hope that helps.

Check out the stars in the flag used in hillary's campaign. They are also upside down. I have heard of people waving the whole flag upside down as a symbol for when America is in distress but to make a flag with the stars upside down?
