We attended Pioneer Days yesterday, July 30. The food was great, the crafters were great to see, the cannon boomed, almost everything was perfect. Almost. Free pontoon boat rides were offered. Lots of people took advantage of them. There were 2 pontoon boats, alternating trips. The rules were simple, once they were completely explained to everyone: Kids in lifejackets, adults dont have to wear one but they must hold onto one. I got onto one of the pontoon boats with my wife and kids along with several others. All the kids were in lifejackets, some of the adults were holding one. I was asked to leave because I didnt have a lifejacket. I wasnt the only adult without one, and I didnt learn of the rule until everyone was on the boat. So I left. As the boat pulled I saw the adults on the boat, including my wife, sitting there holding no lifejackets at all. If rules arent going to apply to everyone, everyone should know that.
