Article doesnít mention actual number of paid attendees. The Daily Attendance Projections (DAP) are less than half of promises to funders and government officials. Does it really matter if one person from Wisconson came to Jamestown?

Get real folks. Ice Arena part 2

These are the same laughable "stats" the Lucy-Desi museum would toss around even before Journey entered the picture. Never firm numbers, just endless nonsense about how far the Canadian tour buses had to travel in order to get to Jamestown. And lo, there was an Australian on the bus!!!
And just like that, the museum is world-renowned.

I was listening to the Capital Pressroom on NPR, and local legislator Tom Reed admitted he was in Albany talking amongst his colleagues this summer and not a single one even knew that the National Comedy even existed.

All the taxpayer graft showered on this project and not a soul outside the little Jamestown bubble knows anything about it.....

Once again...what do all you naysayers have to offer for a future for this city? Crescent wrenches? How about furniture manufacturing? You don't have to like this project, you don't have to go there (heaven forbid) you don't have to try and promote it - but what good does it do to slam it? It must make you feel good or else you want the city to slide into further demise? A lot of you hate the admin cause they make 6 figures. Jealousy is the reason you hope this project fails? Just don't get it.

I don't think anyone wants this to fail; I think they want an honest assessment, real facts, real figures not hype. You mention Crescent wrenches, furniture, they aren't our future , but they were a major part of our economic past and along with that past were retailers along 3rd Street, 2nd Street, Movie Theaters, bakery, and more, these have all went by the wayside. The unfortunate part of this is that instead of investing time and money into businesses that can employ more than a handful of people, bring in businesses that can help the local economy, not just for special events but continuously.
Have you walked down 2nd or 3rd Street? Have you walked through town after dark? What do these tourists from the 49 states do after they attend a performance?

One of the better projects that the city has invested in is the remodeling of unused 2nd and 3rd floors into loft apartments. This has created 24-hours of activity and occupancy among a selection of commercial buildings along 3rd, 4th and Main Streets. The tragedy is these rehab projects cost millions of dollars per unit.

The eldest members of the city council and planning commission admit that demolishing the "Lost Neighborhood" in the 1960s was the city's worst mistake, and say this flat-out through grinning teeth. But then they turn around and expect millions in tax money in order to add housing back to the downtown.

You ask what the will do after a "performance" but performances have little or anything to do with the Comedy Center. Perhaps you can check it out - or maybe go there so you can see first hand what the Center is all about. Yes, my reference to wrenches and furniture were simply a way of asking what YOU think would be a good future for Jamestown. Manufacturing? I doubt it - why would you set up a factory in the worst state for doing so and with strong unions that make it so you can't compete with the Carolinas much less China. And to answer your question about what to do after you visit the Center - have you not noticed the brewery they are building? Have you ever been to a show at the Reg? How about visiting the Fenton and learning about the Lake and more about Lucy when she lived here as a child? How about a tour of S. Tier Brew or how about activities at the Lake in season? How about a show or a game at the Arena? How about Little Theatre? You have to want to vision this as a potential positive for our city.
