The JHS basketball program is the biggest joke out of all the schools within Chautauqua County! The things they allow to happen should be investigated!

It's not about my child, it's about the childeren of numerous friends who are are good in school and get good grades and never in trouble.Their only downfall is that their not rich. When you have money you don't have to try out like everybody else, you made it automatically.
How can a coach bring a player from a larger division school down here to play and expect him to play for jhs this year. Isn't that what was cried about when it came to Jaysean? What about atheletes who don't always have to have passing grades to play. If their failing horribly and never hand in homework, they can still start as long as their scoring points. So far 3 are failing and still are on a team. I don't care what anybody says in response to this because i've seen it happen. Jamestown is the worst i've ever seen when it come to sports politics.

I agree its not about if your a good player. Its about "who" your parents are!! I believe that the whole sports program at JHS is a joke and the only ones getting hurt are the kids. Why do they bother having try outs when they already have their team picked?

Sad but true..only the parent's I was speaking of are very far from bums. "If your poor but play good you don't make the team..but if your rich and are a pontential donator..and have no game then a spot is saved for you!" This should be their motto.

You all sound like idiots and your posts contradict yourselves. You say kids who are failing can play, and you also say it doesn't matter if you're good as long as you have money. Pretty sure those with money wouldn't be failing all their classes, so obviously those kids who are failing are playing just because they're good. I believe they are all about winning, even if kids are failing, but I really don't think they'd take a rich kid over someone who could get them a win.

if you went to the games last year you would see the kid from a prominant family who plays pretty good started, while the much better player sat the bench until almost the third quarter. When the benched kid out shined the other player..with 4-6 basketss the coach took him out till almost the middle of the fourth quarter.
That program has always picked money/prominance over ability. When its months before tryouts and they are already saying "just got the call" my kids on the team..it makes you question certain things.

Actually, I went to every game last year, and for years before that. I honestly don't know who you're thinking of when you say a better player sat the bench.
Cough cough Zach Eklum got in to a fight before the JHS game in Buffalo and still got to play cough cough... Hmmm what happened to the school policy???
What about when after practice last year some kids went to taco hut ordered food after they ate it they ran out without paying. The next day they convinced kids they were paying for dinner so they all ordered food...everybody ate and the two players took off running. When the waitresses realized it was the same kids from the night before, they prevented the others from leaving until their parents came and paid the bill. A week after that the same two students called a cab when they got to the destination they jumped out and ran. The cab driver recognized one of the players and drove to his dads house told him what happened and he paid for the cab. What's my point??? These starters were never punished by coaches and were allowed to play in the very next game. Yes, everything was reported to the proper coaches! The players responses were...we"ll never get in trouble they need us! Way to go jhs..your showing your atheletes break the law and our code you can still play and start..but be good and practice hard you ride the bench more. You should be so proud idiots!

Don't think I'd have any reason to lie about it. Guess I just have a different opinion as to who should or shouldn't be playing. I don't give much weight to people's opinions who give vague answers and never have specific details. It's always "my friend's kid" or "some kid". Never any concrete examples.

Referring to the school policies that aren't being enforced appropriately. What's good for the goose is not good for the gander at JHS. Zach does NOT play basketball, but he was involved in a physical fight with another student right before the last football game. He served no ISS (the other child did) and was still allowed to play in the game. Policy states that fights disqualifies students from partaking in any further school functions (sports, dances, battle of the classes, etc...)
I just wondered why poor behavior by the salutatorian was rewarded? Oh because it would also strip him of that title....

Listen you stupid dumb ass, get your facts straight. First, it was not before the last game, it was the week before. Secondly, the child as you refer was suspended for a good reason. He STOLE money from the boy you mention. Then he cursed out the principals when he was brought in for some additional behavior issues. Zach did not hit him. He just got his money back. He should have f'ed him up with no consuquences because thats all you mudshark, welfare scum know. Yes this little black welfare kid stole. Imagine that. How do I know this to be true? I was there. So STFU.

A whole week? really? It happened a WHOLE week before the game????how long did this kid get suspended? Of course you're going stick up for whitey he's one of yours!!! Others in that same room saw Zach pick him up and slam him against a wall and knock the crap out of him! Hell and let me guess YOU were in the principals office while this kid was swearing?? You saw that first hand did ya? Ya little cracker...
Ohhh and btw I'm with a white man and don't even come close to collecting a welfare check! But others in this depressed and disgusting town DO! How many players on that team that pretty boy plays with are on welfare and have white mothers that prefer black men? Ohhhh now don't you sound like a dumb ass! Bottom line... Zach got away with something, this other kid didn't.... Up
