The ponderosa closed because the food was garbage.

I can think of a few that will be closed in a couple of months. All of them are owned by the same company and will be closing at least 4 restaurants. They have been cut off by most of the supply companies in the town. I wonder how long it will take before they run out of food.

Not sure what any of you are talking about, or think you know...The Food Is Good Group's Restaurants are almost all closed for the Winter months...so not sure how they'd be going under. Olives is booming, and the Chautauqua Suites have insured that the group has remained fiscally solvent. As for Steve Carlson's "restaurants" the Casino is leased and makes a fortune (were talking 6 figures, by the week!) Wing City is doing 30,000/week in winter! His Floridian venture went sour, and he sold that months ago...he is a prospective buyer for Ponderosa.
I work for the biggest distributor in town, and none of this info about either of these groups is valid.

I also work for one of the biggest distributors in town and I for one know how the restaurants are doing. I have worked with these companies forever and if the Casino is pulling in 6 figures then how is that we can't get them to pay their bills. We have emailed and called Steve and he keeps blowing us off. As for Wing City they are good on their bills because we had to put them on COD to get our money. So Jerry before you think you know so much why don't you talk to your accounts recievable and see what you might find out yourself. Just because you work for them doesn't mean you handle their accounts as I do.

Steve has been notorious for not paying bills, its been that way for years and years, and throughout his numerous bankruptcies. It's not that he can't pay them, it's that he is a horrid money manager. I've seen his numbers and worked hand in hand with many of his employees both at Wing City and the Casino. In Bemus, has periods where he grosses $3-5,000 in just an hour! In a matter of 15 weeks, he's grossing well into a quarter million dollars while running food and labor costs combined at under 60%...Trust me, that branch of his restaurants is a very profitable one. However, other business ventures such as his failed Estero FL Wing City, Arby's, Jean's Ice Cream, and many others along with divorces and legal troubles; his solvency is directly effected. I don't care to find out how he pays Maplevale, because the % he gives to them is far greater than that he gives my company...and he still has trouble paying us on time! I wasn't trying to disprove you, and in fact I'm in agreement...Steve Carlson is not a well-liked man in the area, and he's screwed over more people than I care to even begin talking about. The Food is Good group isn't far behind him in business practices, and Vaan is the most arrogant/ignorant person I've ever met. His problems lie close to Steve's, with several failed restaurants such as the Hot Fish Shoppe and ones that are in serious decline such as the Watermark/Ironstone. In this economy and with escalating food costs, its no wonder that restaurants that aren't running a tight ship, and don't have their costs down to a science, are failing.

The ironstone was just on Cable 8 news the other night for reopening their bar or something, so I highly doubt they are closed for good
