Most people I see on welfare are obese as well as their children! They use their EBT cards to buy junk. So many times I've gone to the store and am stuck behind overweight people who have their cart filled with chips, pop and other junk and pay for their junk with their EBT card.

If we're paying for them to eat and feed their families, the government should only allow them to purchase healthy food. No wonder half I Jamestown is fat, they're all on welfare! It's ridiculous wen their 8 year old children weigh more than I do!

I agree 100%. I think it's a combination of sitting around all day and making uneducated food choices. They kill the Medicaid system because of all the health problems and they don't pay a nickel of it.

Exactly! So we pay for them to feed their faces with junk, then they get fat and we pay for their medical expenses because they have health problems from being unhealthy. Then pay for them to keep poppin out kids who they feed junk to, then the kids have health problems from it that we pay for too! How is this fair to us taxpayers at all?!?!

Actually, I'm taking a break from cleaning. And I own my own business, have a car and a house. I have a daughter that I provide for, I work my ass off to provide her with a good life so we don't have to live with the scum in the 2nd street buildings that our tax dollars also payed for

And junk food lasts until the end of the month. Fruits and veggies go bad (even if they do buy them) within a week or so. The chips stay fresher longer!

That is the most ridiculous excuse! That's why you go shopping once a week, buy enough fruits and veggies for a week then you go back to the store and shop for the next week. And it's not more expensive to eat healthy. A bunch of bananas or a head of lettuce is cheaper than a bag of chips. R u welfare dirt bags really that dumb? No wait, yea you are!

we give them too many food stamps, computers, cell phones, game boys, play stations when we should be giving them job, time to start work camps. I am not targeting people who really need assistance, but thats a short list

What I'm trying to say is these scumbags buy food once a month. They spend all of their foodstamps in one trip. By the end of the month the fruits and veggies that they MIGHT have purchased are no longer good leaving them with snacks of chips and cookies.
I know how I do it with the money that I worked my ass of for. I go once a week and buy what I need. That way my lettuce, bananas, and apples are fresh.

its true to a point. ive been on foodies for a year and im still having trouble getting food to last for a month for the amount of money they give us. i hate junkfood and i am a vegetarian. im trying to get my husband to eat healthier and im teaching my son about good and bad foods. its hard getting good fresh food to last not because it goes bad but because other than fruits and veggies, the healthy food costs more and no one wants to eat pasta everyday. ive tried they just dont eat it :/ me personally i could. ive gotton to the point where ill skip breakfast foods and just buy dinner foods and then a huge box of ramen for when we do run out of food. my policy, no chips no soda no candy, then why am i still struggling to make the money stretch?

it is true, to a point. unhealthy food is cheaper and they really dont give you very much for foodies. i also live near tops without a car and prices there are twice as much as walmart. if i go to walmart i try to stock up so i dont have to shop at tops later but fresh fruits veggies go bad within a week and i can easily spend 50 dollars at wegmens on just a small basket of fruits. pasta only goes so far in nutritional value. i spend half of what they give us on baby foods and formula. wic doesnt provide enough. i dont allow junk into the house but trying to shop healthy and make the money stretch leaves us eating only ramen for the end of the month. my policy is no soda no chips no candy, then why am i still struggling to make the money stretch?

Here's a kicker for you! While I was waiting in line at rite aid to get my prescription, there was a lady at the counter getting her prescriptions and I overheard the cashier say that would be $5.00. She said she didn't have any money so the cashier gave it to her anyways! I asked why she didn't have to pay and the cashier told me that if you don't have money for your co pay for Medicaid you don't have to pay!!! What the heck. Then I walk to the front of the store and she's buying ciggs! Something is wrong with this system!!!!!

for the past couple months my husband has been losing hours at his job. then winter hours kicked in. even less hours. we already had food stamps that i use for our son, i thought thats not so bad. i dont work because hes still very young and id rather wait until hes less attached (after his first birthday). many people told us to go to dss they can help you with this and that. but i never wanted to. i was determined to do it ourselves. this month i cried when i opened the utility bills. we simply just didnt make enough to pay for bills and diapers. i balance the checkbook and keep all reciepts. we never spent a dime on anything other than toilet paper. the rest was bills and baby. i went to stand in line at dss and apply for everything i hated. i spent a good 4 hours there trying today trying to fill things out correctly and talk with someone to figure out what i really needed help with. i spent long enough to notice that every third person in line had the new iphone, brand new boots, shiny new jackey and every womans nails were done. wow id love to live like that. i cant even afford to get new clothes after my pregnancy or even laundry soap for the ones i do own. why do i feel embarrassed asking this state for help? not because im proud but because by signing my name at the bottom of the TA form i have now just been grouped in with all of those system riders. it makes me angry. very angry.

I've worked seems I was 16 then as a CNA at 18 and made good money then 2 yrs ago iwas diagnosed with lupus and fibermyalgia!! My husband works for the state an is on unemployment right now so we are approved! Sometimes when they look at me I wanna punch them cause they don't know my story! And yes I'm 26 with 4 kids and holy shit they all have the same father(hard for people to believe all my kids aren't aloud to have the same last name) drives me crazy! And guess what I wasn't that little slut not on birth control cause for all 4 my kids I was! The doc calls me that .01% they can't guarantee! Another point about people not judging
