How many lights do you need down that way? It's called looking both ways before you cross the street. It's making sure young kids aren't crossing the street alone. Lets just put a light on every street corner in town. Take responsibility and learn how to cross the street.

It was my foster brother, He's 15 years old and got air lifted to Erie. He's not doing well at all. He was just trying to cross the street from the park to the dollar store. The truck driver is not at fault according to the people that saw it. Please keep in your prayers my foster brother and all that witnessed the accident. Including the truck driver.

I lived on 13th till I was 12 and played ball in those fields. Everyday I crossed that rd many times. I looked both ways. It's really easy ppl should try it.

You must not of lived there very long or not at all. Growing up I remember 3 different kids killed in that general area growing up. And I'm in my mid 30's. Funny how I knew about those ones (might of been more when I was a kid) and I didn't even live on that side of town. That area has been a problem for years because the lack of lights and the fact that people feel it's a 45mph zone. More lights = people slow the hell down and pay attention and not zone out.

that would be good.People in vehicles need to slow down.they think they own the streets. And they know they're not going to be charged when they hit someone, not in Jamestown anyway.

for the cops, charging the driver would take up too much of their time, they might miss out on a jelly filled donut.

Sunday my wife and I were driving down Washington St doing 32mph and three kids walked right across the street and essentially dared me to hit them. There were other cars behind me in the right lane and they decided to challenge them as well. While sitting at the light at 8th and Wash. another kid came flying down the hill on his bike and crossed 8th without even looking or hesitating to see if anything was coming on 8th St. If there was anything coming he would have been dead. So it isn't always the drivers and the lights but people also need to heed them.

They do need another light, there is to much space between the 2. They need something since there are businesses and the park there. I'm praying for him, this the son of one of my dad's friends. And the last guy was the family of my boss. Keep all families I am praying for both of their families but right now we need to focus on him getting through surgery and after surgery.

I lived there on 13th from 79'-90'. Never had an issue. Riding my bike or anything, but I stop look both ways and run across. No one pays attention these days. We see it everytime. I live by a school now and it's crazy at 3. Kids and parents don't pay attention they drive and walk where they please. Thats the problem. No safty at all.

The responsibility is on the people driving...this can happen anywhere...it doesnt matter what country, state, city, neighborhood, corner...my prayers are with the family of the victim. Shame on you who blames the drivers, you must drive badly all the time. Grow the f**k up.

The ones that want to blame the drivers are the dirtbags who live in that area. Get off your lazy sweaty asses and go make some cash. Buy a house that's not in the ghetto. Notice on Jamestown busy streets equals trashy neighborhoods. If you don't live in the area keep a better eye on your kids. Make sure they're not hanging out down there. Nothing good can come out of hanging at Chadakoin Park. Stop blaming people going the speed limit and the police.
You must know so well about dirtbags, lazy sweaty asses, trashy neighborhoods, etc., u r SICK...you might not be so uppity if it were you, and FYI it isnt just kids you a$$...adults have been killed there too, so take your RICH ass and get out of ny if u think u are perfect.

Run them over next time. Be sure to look in your rear view, if they start to get up slam it in reverse. Second time is always the charm with those darkies!

Now look at you. You are using a slang term for a handicapped person to describe what I have to say. Funny thing is you couldn't spell it right. Go get an education and get out of the ghetto.
The retard couldn't spell his own name!! LMAO

Sorry I was in route to Jamestown from NC to deal with this. My brother will be ok eventually. He is in a lot of pain and out of surgery. As far as that light it should of been taken care of when it was 1 but now we have 3 in a month. Lucky only one of the kids got hit and not all three of them. They are all teenagers and know how to cross a road. My father was with them and they were all caring their skate boards. BTW I'm ignoring all the ignorant comments, don't have time for it and part of the reason why I don't enjoy visiting back here. This area is very negative. Just think it could of been your family member. And doesn't matter where it happened so what it was in low income area doesn't mean they were from there. It is the only FREE skate park in town.
