Was just wondering where i could go to make a complaint?
All the elementary schools was allowed to trick or treat in
Jamestown but, yet not one bus took the kids from Union Chapel elementary. I think this was very wrong and it needs to be brought to who ever in charge of all these events. As a Grandmother,I am really mad about this crap.

Jamestown School is the only elementary school located within walking distance of a town with stores. Are you suggesting that the other three schools should pay a bus driver and buy the gas to bus kids to either Russell Springs or Jamestown to collect candy? The school system is broke, as it is. What program or class should be cut out so that kids can be bussed somewhere to get candy? Sorry, but not living near a town with stores is the price a person pays for living in the country. It is what it is. Plus, there really aren't very many stores in Jamestown to hand out candy. Have you been to the square lately? There isn't much open these days.

Instead of having the kids bussed to collect candy, why can't the parents/grandparents get together and put on some sort of Halloween party for the kids at the school?

It's all that board member Harry Kimblers fault. He should have been voted out many years ago and Union would at least got their fair share of scohol money . Still only a lunchroom with no gym is pitiful this day and age

I was told that nothing gets done about things at Chapel because there are not enough parents who will get together, go to one of the board meetings and stand up to the principal.

Bingo! This a basic lesson in democracy. If people protest and make their wishes known and are willing to participate in the solution, then something will be done. However, the state of Kentucky is broke and I'm not sure there is any money to replace an otherwise functional school building. I'm sure it was much more important to build a natatorium/auditorium that it was to replace a small school in the hinderlands of the county (tongue in cheek).

Seriously, it would be a lot more effective for people to start attending various governmental meetings to voice their opinions than it is to gripe on topix. The people we vote to represent us need some feedback from their constituents if they are to make decisions that we like. You can blow steam on topix, but what else are you accomplishing?

Too many gay parents. The school figures if the parents don't know how to run their kids lives, why the f*ck should the school take responsibility? Quit complaining and get of your fat a$$es and do it yourself. Jeez !!!

Is your grandchildren as ignorant as you are? Crying over trick or treat candy, stupid.
