who doesn't love wallyworld? this would not only be a boon to local area of medford. but perhaps the complainers work for freddies.(am guessing this would kill that overpriced dept store) wouldnt even phase me to see that one gone. wal-mart in e.p. is beautiful. local planners were in on the design of building. it is not an eyesore. and is definetly good for locals(jobs and fuel-saving) why does it matter to you if wal-mart is in south medford? if you dont want to shop there, dont!!those of us that are being hit HARD by all rising costs would be happy to see the discount giant so close. and as far as traffic in this city, as far as i can tell, most of the streets are being redone. i am pretty sure this town was built for less than 1/3 of the commuters we have now, and that it all has to be revamped. we are growing and we cant stop progress. so lets help it instead

This is capitalism at work, survival of the fittest, if you don't like it move to some Communist regime such as China,Venezuela or the old Soviet Union before its demise. Competition is a good thing.

See what I mean about money.(former article) I know of no one that wants this trash store here. Look at the conditions of the one on Crater Lake hwy. It is dirty, dirty, dirty. dumber then dirt sales help, no one cares..It's a job to the help and to hell with waiting on customers.
I would rather stick a sharp stick in my eye then shop there. Feel like I need a bath when I do go in there.
Medford is a good old boy town and only cares about how much money they will put in their pockets.
Anyone that has not got the brains to bring in a Traders Joes market over the wal mart, remember elections do come around or do you have that fixed too.

It is too simple to say that "competition is good" or that "Wal-Mart is evil". That being said it is pretty obvious that the current Wal-Mart is not being run as Sam would have done it. They have put american suppliers out of business trying to make them compete with China suppliers. Employees of Wal-Mart have to collect food stamps to stay alive, costing all of us more in taxes.

You might think that buying socks at Wal-Mart cost you less today than 20 years ago, but they cost our country dearly.

Wal-Mart is not evil. People who buy there instead of a local business are to blame.

I try to always buy local.

For heavens sake, get a grip, you cannot fight progress, and a Super Wallmart on the West side of Medford is a great idea. Their prices are fair, competitive, and people are friendly...who can beat the Greeter's "Welcome to Walmart". Medford is growing by leaps and bounds and needs a West side of town Walmart, and it will happen!

Nice hearing a breath of sanity still survives in Southern Oregon!
However, you're probably outnumbered by immigrants, mainly from California, who freely express their condescending attitudes at everything.
