You know if eharmoney specializes in 'heterosexual' relationships, why would you go there if you are gay?

If you have a heart condition and your doctor specializes in feet, would you sue him?

There are loads of dating services out there who do an excellent job at homosexual relationships. Why not go to the best one for the job?

This is just another "get rich quick" scam lawsuit.

I'm going to sue my local news because they said it wasn't going to rain today and I painted my house and it rained and ruined the paint LOL.

People are so stupid, BUT we have the lawyers to really blame with these "ass"inine cases.

Hey, maybe I can sue her for being gay and depriving me of the chance for having sex or children, I'm sure there is probably a lawyer for that case too.

What a screwed up society we live in.

I think I'm going to sue the people who make straws because they don't come with a warning that the edges are sharp. They cut my gums when I "miss".

Geez man, what a joke. Why doesn't she just take a nice Sunday drive up the coast to San Fran? Or am I now going to get sued for telling someone to look for lesbian love on a Sunday?

I would be willing to try anything in life once. There are probably only a handful of things that I wouldn't or couldn't ever do, and being a lawyer is one of them. No way, no how, couldn't do it. And that goes triple for a bullcrap lawyer like these people, and I use the term people lightly.

What about toothpicks, they don't come with a warning label LOL

BTW are you sure you are using the right end of the straw??? LOL :-) they don't come with directions or warning labels either.

The one I REALLY love the most is the guy who sued ( a major RV manufacturer, I won't mention names) because he was driving his RV down the highway with the cruise control on and got up out of the drivers seat to make a cup of coffee and ( guess what ) he crashed. He won the case because no where in the owners manual did it state you could not do this, they "recalled" all the owners manuals to "update" them with the fact that you should never get out of the drivers seat while driving, DUH!!!!

Where will the madness end???

If e-harmony is only geared for heterosexual couples, why did she go there to begin with? They probably couldn't find her a suitable match and she would sue them for that, too. There are too many gay match makers around for her to use. I think some one needs some attention and maybe some...MONEY???!!!!

That must be one fat, ugly heifer. Nobody will help me find a girlfriend so maybe I'll sue somebody. Give me a break lady. Get a life.

Man there is no love for this lady if that is what she should be called, and there shouldn't be any love. I hope she wins and the jury gives her a free membership to a gay e-harmony like website. Now that would be funny and teach every one a lesson. I think all these silly lawsuits should be handled like that. Like the lady that got burned with McDonald's coffe on her chest and burned her chest hair. She should of gotten a life supply of NAIR. Plus what girl has chest hair.

i think that we should have a loser pays system of civil law. if you sue and lose, then you should have to pay the person you sue the amount of money that you were seeking. all too often such lawsuits are brought just so that they would settle and the suer would still get money. like women in the northeast suing walmart pharmacists who refused to fill prescriptions of the morning after pill. those women even said that they would not even seek their prescription in a walmart. upon hearing that the judge should have tossed that case out. people like this women roam this country looking for penty anti stuff to sue over just so the company would settle to get their name out of the news. i hope eharmony pursues this, and should they win counter sue for harrassment and defemation.

eHarmony appears to be a reputable online dating company. I saw the commercial and it appealed to me because they are helping quality people find somebody who is compatible with them-they seem to have an excellant screening policy. It just seems like it is 'the place' to find quality people. I immediately tried to sign up and realized there is not a woman seeking woman category. I was very disappointed that I could not be a part of this process. I am a lesbian-I'm just a normal woman who wants to meet another normal woman who has the same goals and purpose in life.

This does seem like discrimination; however, I do not think sueing is the answer. Maybe there could be a same-sex eHarmony that uses the same standards as straight eHarmony.

Blessings and thanks for listening

I was discriminated by eHarmony because I do not meet their income requirements. Unless you earn $25,000 or more you are not material for their site.

That is absolutely crazy. What is the world coming to. You can now sue a dating site, for not helping gays, lol. There are 1000's of other sites out there for gays.

Why is this discrimnation anyways, ther is criteria to meet, if you don't it is not for you. As with just about anything there are requirements, if you don't pass your DL test does that mean they are discriminating againt you for not giving you your drivers license for being dumb??? NO there are requirement for a reason, E-harmony was created for certain people ( just like the gay dating sites ) if you don't "meet / agree" with thier terms go elswhere and foget about it.

Simply put, go where you are wanted. I am HAPPY that E-harmony would not serve them.

Could you imagine the impact of the "new" E-harmony commercials on TV on our children?
Two guys or women joined together by our site, I REALLY do not want to be explaing that one to my kids.

You flipping bigots! There are laws in CA against discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation. It appears that eHarmony violates those laws. I hope others in states with discrimination laws that cover sexual orientation sue them as well.

Becuase linda, many gays are unhappy today with thier lives. IF they are not whinning about gay marriage or being discriminated against, they have very little to look foward to. They are all victims.

Prof- please take solice in knowing that not everyone interested in this story is a bigot. I am not homosexual, but i do support EVERYONE'S right to not be discriminated against by ANYONE. I lived in California for a pretty long time, 15 yrs, and that is where I learned all about how I view others who are (for the lack of a better word) "different" than me. It's all about respect and fairness. I'm sure I'm going to get blasted for eveything I said, but again, it comes down to respect. I do know one thing for a fact though------I was not put here to judge anyone, and neither was the rest of us!!! Judgement will come soon enough, by someone that is QUALIFIED to do so!!! Not by a group of people posting opinions on a News Forum!!!
Good luck Prof---I wish you well!!!

As a lesbian, I'd have to say that this is a frivolous lawsuit.
While she may not like the fact that it's catered to heterosexuals, she needs to get over it.
Aprof, for the first time, I disagree with you.
After all, there are numerous GLBT dating sites and I'm pretty sure they don't cater to heterosexuals.
What would be nice is if E-Harmony had a GLBT site for themselves.
I think people are drawn to EH because of their positive reputation whereas many of the GLBT sites are not quite as up to par. I don't know. I've been in a LT relationship for years and haven't used the dating sites.
I just think BS lawsuits like this are part of what gives the GLBT community a bad name.
