And yet we are forced by law to do business with insurance companies... This country is f$$ked!!
----------

"I did have insurance on my bike and my health care
takes over when my insurance on the bike runs out," said Hancock," plus the other guy had insurance."

Even with all of his insurance coverage, November 30, 2012, Shands hospital filed a claim of hospital lien against him."

Isn’t Shands hospital/University of Florida a government ran and funded hospital?

“Accident was On November 21, 2012”

“November 30, 2012, Shands hospital filed a claim of hospital lien against him.”
(that’s only 9 days I bet Mr. Hancock hand not even received a EOB or bill from the hospital.)

“Leveton said the liens are never attached to real or personal property”

“Most importantly the liens are not against patients, but rather against all third-party payers such as insurance companies that may make payments as a result of the injury or illness.”

Must have been a slow day in the Newsroom.

The lean was in his name . I suggest you comprehend what you read before you post.. Also if you have ever had a lean against you it will effect your credit rating which means higher premiums and more money for the insurance companies...

"He said if insurance doesn't pay (auto or health) to protect itself, the hospital files a lien in case there are payments or settlements outside of health insurance. "

Dolander,
I have been told that outstanding doctor bills are not calculated into ones credit score. Not sure how accurate that is, I just know that is what I was told at the bank last year when applying for a car loan. You are correct that credit scores can affect a many things and it is important to keep an eye on ones score.

To answer your question, I have never (to my knowledge) had a lean on any my property.
