good for that judge , if we had more like her we wouldn't have all of these criminals released from jail after a short sentence only to commit the same or worse crime

Let's hope the state of GA isn't like the state of FL and decide to let them go early.

i applaud the judge's fortitude for giving these sentences. in reading this, it says that these were brutal robberies, but no one was killed. when would that have happened? next robbery that they did? excessive, no way and it's just to bad that other judges in other states don't give what a person really diserves. then maybe these harden crimanals would still be in prison instead of out on the streets doing it all over again. lawrence levin says it's to harsh and no hope and the sentence will do more harm than good and at the expense of the taxpayers. where is he from? does he not look at statistic and see that murder's and rapes may be down, but robberies are not. please, use some of your brain matter here and know that a lot of people out there in this communtiy are grateful that the judge put these two men where they could no longer, ever, rob them.

hoorah for the judge.

The story doesn't say what constitutes "Brutal" robberies, but one can make an educated guess.
Keep in mind that these two were offered a plea bargain that would have given them 40 years & turned it down, so they got what they asked for & deserved. Personally, I hope they serve every minute of it! Of course, that's impossible, but maybe this sentence will keep them in jail for the rest of their natural lives, instead of serving 3 years & being released on probation!

Way to go Judge! We need similiar sentencing in Florida. Look at our murder rate this year. If enough violent brutal offenders are sentenced perhaps our youth will see violent crime is leading them nowhere fast. It is hard enough to get people to testify against a criminal for fear of reprisal. When they do testify by sentencing the offender to a lengthy prison term we are encouraging people to come forward.

We need to bring back FLOGGING and make it televised! This would cut down on crime radically, and would save the taxpayers money for the prison system! Let people watch thugs being flodded, and they will think twice about it! Of course, blood would be liberally drawn! It would be painful and effective!

I know this is a little late, but I'm just now getting around to researching this.

That is MY SISTER that these animals attacked. They shot my brother in law and held a gun to my then, six year old niece's head.

For most of you this is a story that you have read, and seem to have largely applauded. For me, it's a personal victory.

Georgia public defender Adam Levin criticized the sentence in his legal blog. Levin wrote "The sentence is unduly harsh. To shut off all sense of hope for two men who did not kill or rape will do more harm than good..."

Give them time. They'll eventually kill someone.

Hi!First of all all we see is negative comments so let be post one alittle more positive. How do we as citizens think its okay to let pedifiles be free after therapy but not robbers. What was done was very wrong but at the same time we know someone who done worse and got less time. They should go to jail but not forever because killers and rapists don't get that much time. These were good men with families that a few bad choices.Whose families must now live without them.
But the people who got robbed are still alive and for the most part their family is still in tact. THESE GUYS WILL NEVER GET TO HAVE ANY MOMENT WITH THEIR CHILDREN THAT AREN'T BEHIND GATES. NOW YOU MAY HAVE STARTED ANOTHER GENERATION OF ANGER AND CRIMES TO BE COMMITTED FOR "PAYBACK"!!GET REAL IF THIS WAS YOUR FAMILY MEMBER WITH THIS MUCH TIME YOU'D BE VERY PISSED OFF!!!

I am the sister of one of these men, by far this is outragous sentence!!!!! It's not fair to them at all, no one is dead, and they certainly didnt rape anyone...People that rape & murder get less much less time, than they did. I have been keeping track of it. SO REST ASURE I am keeping up with the stories in GA, so when THE APPEAL comes up they will have a very very good chance of getting the sentence over turned... SO for all yall that think that this sentence was justice can go to HELL, cause it was not justice, it ROBBED, them of their life... U ass holes

Hey Melaine Y. That was my sister that was robbed. Poor baby. I am SO sorry that your feelings are hurt. After all your brother just robbed them and tied them up and gave a small child nightmares for the rest of her life.

You're right, your brother desevers my pitty. I'll cry for him later on. By the way, if you're going to add to public forum. Learn to type and spell STUPID

They have to pay for what they did but I disagree on the time they were sentenced. No one is perfect and maybe they diserved a second chance of living out here. I understant that family went through a horrible experience and yes they deserve to pay in prison but come on not that long. I feel sorry for the family that went through that but I also feel sorry for their family too... wrong desicion wrong thughts wrong time!...
