Everyone of you on this page seem so wrapped up in this church soap opera drama that I don't think you realize just how many people you have just turned off towards church. All of the horrible things you are saying about each other and others. Nice example of being christains.
Don't worry. Most of us were turned off before all of this.:-)

Good point. All of these "christians" remind me of our school board!
I have waaayyyy more faith in the school board... that is, now that Joey is gone... but, alas, that is another forum.

It'll be interesting to see how the story changes on what was done to Richard when more investigation is done! It's scary to think that America has the best justice system in the world, yet innocent people still get dragged through the mud, dragged through court, & hauled to jail just on accusations without any real evidence!

I think it is a disgrace to convict a man where several people had access to his computer or correction "his wife's computer". The couple were having marital problems and her whole family was having a feud with his family. Since when can a wife and father-in-law make accusations and remove a computer, have people to check it out and store it and this not be tampering? Why was the wife checking the computer any way? If it was her computer or she had access to it, then who is to say that she was not the one on a porn site. This is clearly a frame! Who would ever check behind a person that has never had one allegation against then unless it was to cause them hurt? I can not imagine that after the state dropped the case and said that there was no evidence to prove that Mr. Sweat committed a crime, that the FBI took so much time and money to prove that he did. Rumors surfaced that the procecutor was a friend of the family. Can this prove to be an injustice to our whole judicial system? The youths that this family accused Sweat of molesting ended up being his character witnesses that stood strong for his innocence and good character. I hope that the jury that were pressured into making a decision on this case on Friday or come back on Labor Day weekend will come forward and request a re-trial. Better yet, I hope that good Samaritians with start a fund for a repeal of this whole unjust situation.

Get it STRAIGHT! Lee, He was 'accused' of having child porn on a computer! Not, molesting children. If ANYONE had access to that computer besides him, THIS is a bogus conviction! PERIOD! His character, from what I've read, Speaks for itself!

Richard & his family are outstanding people! It's sad that they have been put through all of this, but it is a testimony that they still reach out to others who are hurting, every time an opportunity arises. They still minister to all who cross their paths

While you make your comment "nice example of being Christians", do YOU not judge US? hmmmm

READ THE BIBLE A LITTLE MORE CLOSELY! YOU'LL find out ,'amature', That, Most of the time, God Isn't 'puttin' anything on us, We do it ourselves, and , hope HE will 'bail' us out! Apparently, you have little to no experience, and your understanding, is, to say the least,'lacking'!

All that I have to say is that Extreme beliefs call for extreme measures. The Mouzon's couldn't face that their little girl was getting a divorce and that Richard was strong enough to stand up for how he felt. It would of interupted their fairy tale christian lifes and they could no longer lead by example. The charges brought on to, the innocent, Richard Sweat are such a touchy subject in a southern baptist town like Jacksonville. It was an easy scapegoat for the church to get rid of a person whom could think for himself and not give in to their cult-like antics. It is sad to see such a great person get robbed by the justice system! Is it me? or does it seem suspicious that the Mouzons sat day after day in the court room on the FBI's side. Making their presence and feelings clearly known. So much for loving hime through better and worse? It was very clear that they were out to get him and wouldn't sleep until he was convicted. Finally, I think that have two baptist minsters speak on his behalf had a lot to say about the type of guy he was. These people know the inter-workings baptist churches and know that this awful thing was of been a set up. I think that not having character witnesses during the trial was a big mistake on Richard's lawyer's part. He would of had a line out the door waiting tell talk about how great of a person he was. At the same time that slimey white haired FBI lawyer might of used something out of contest. This whole situation is unbelievable and I can't wait for the appeal to show his innocense!

While Richard Sweat may have been found guitly by some erroneous and trumped up charges. The fact still remains Richard is one of the monst kind and generous people you will ever meet...his love and passion for the Lord shines in this dark and filthy world...I know Richard well enough to know he woould help you in any way he could as he has for me and many others. The last thing I have to say is: that although he was convicted and this site has him demonized him ...we know this to be true .All things work together for the good to those that love the Lord.....

SO I FIND IT FUNNY HOW it was richard vs the us gov't. if you were at the trial why was it that fakeshore baptist church was there?- why did they bring a bus at the beg. trials? i find it funny how best buy richards employer stuck by him even after he was arrested but the fact that a church where he surved for several years did nothing but persecute him. by setting up 1st a secret meeting , by giving him 2 options( quit and we will turn in what we found to the police or go to counceling with his wife and everything will be forgiven. if you ask me that kind of sounds like blackmale isn't that illegial-not in a head pastors eyes)than he had to hear about his richard reports that were taken place every sunday!only got to see his daughter 1 hr every sunday(not only that but he had to pay to see her)

also so you know i find it funny how certain families in that church find all of this a joke! as i was told by a relative of theirs that every family outing richard would be brought up and mocked... they would say a start rumors on how he molested st-o ,mt ..i do believe that is slandering his name making false alligations about him. i find it funny how yet jos tried to run him over in a park infront of richards home while walking his dog..the church is destroying his life so why does it have members trying to take his life.
