I told you. Notre Dame didn't play anybody this year, and it showed. I'm a Vols fan, and I knew Bama would crush them, but I'll never say Roll Tide

ND played their "normal" schedule and it did include some ranked teams. I will agree in part that maybe SEC schedules are a tad tougher but even SEC has its cupcakes. Vandy is on the rise and watch out for Spurrier! Then you also have TX A&M!!

Too easy to pick apart the Irish' schedule. So, I will just not comment any further. Off the record, it was weaker than most CUSA teams schedules'.

Tulane 2-10

Of 12 opponents the Irish played, 4 had losing records per NCAA website; whereas, Bama's schedule had 6 games against losing record teams(AR/AUB/MIZZOU/UT/FL Atlantic/Western Carolina
Bama's losing record teams were 21-50 and ND's was 19-31. Apples to oranges? Perhaps, as any stats man can make his stats say whatever he wishes them to?
BC was ND's "weakest" opponent at 2-10 while Bama's was WC at 1-10.Next weakest for ND was WF at 5-7 and Bama's was FL Atl at 3-9. And as Forrest Gump might say, "that's all I have to say 'bout' that"...**LOL**

Pitt finished with a losing record after Ole Miss destroyed them.

BYU was pathetic. Thankfully for them, they are indy as well and can schedule games for free wins.

Boston College was like 2-10 or something.

Oklahoma got bent over and taken advantage of by A&M at Jerry World. Michigan got dumped on by Bama, and lost a fair game to South Carolina.

All these teams Notre Dame beat had okay records, but when you compare the few teams Notre Dame played that actually played SEC teams, it's the SEC team that won every time.

Oh, and Michigan State had a losing record as well.

So, let's count them up..........

1. Wake Forest
2. Boston College
3. Pitt
4. Michigan State
5. Purdue

That's five teams that Notre Dame played that finished with losing records. That's all I got to say about that

09/22/12 vs. Michigan Notre Dame, Ind. W, 13-6

10/06/12 vs. Miami Chicago, Ill. W, 41-3

10/13/12 vs. Stanford Notre Dame, Ind. W, 20-13 (OT)
10/20/12 vs. BYU Notre Dame, Ind. W, 17-14
10/27/12 at Oklahoma Norman, Okla. W, 30-13
11/03/12 vs. Pittsburgh Notre Dame, Ind. W, 29-26 (3OT)
11/10/12 at Boston College Chestnut Hill, Mass. W, 21-6
11/17/12 vs. Wake Forest Notre Dame, Ind. W, 38-0
11/24/12 at USC Los Angeles, Calif. W, 22-13
Discover BCS National Championship
01/07/13 vs. Alabama Miami, Fla. L, 42-14

Not to mention that USC finished with a 7-6 record in a weak Pac 12.

I think I already explained the OU game, and how sad it is to take pride in that win.

Navy was weak as shit this year. Arizona St. bent them over in the cashew bowl.

I mean, it doesn't even matter what the record is of the teams you play, if they're weak, it doesn't help your cause. ND played nobody that was good this year. When they did, you SEE the result.

Before you go talking shit on Conference USA, I remember when Tulsa made a trip up to South Bend a couple years ago. CUSA 1 ND 0

Damn. I honestly thought MSU was 5-7. Oh well, it's still a reason why I thought Notre Dame would get killed. The Michigan game should have been a fair way to gauge the caliber in talent between the Tide and Irish. I know it's not always the best to compare based on a previous matchup, but since they both played Michigan early in the year, I felt is was fair enough. Shockingly, not to me, the comparison added up. As goes:

Michigan loses to Bama in Dallas (neutral site) 41-14.. Two weeks later Michigan loses to Notre Dame in South Bend, 13-6. I think that's all you need to know to decide which team would actually win the game coming into Miami.

I'm "Interesting" I had to change my name since I made an account. Either way, Notre Dame goes 8-4 at best, if they would have played an SEC schedule. In actuality, they probably go 7-5

I respectfully disagree; depends on which division they would have been in. GA/Bama are the only 2 i see beating them in SEC schedule format?

I would say the divisions were more equal this year than any other year. In the East, UF, UGA, and South Carolina were all pretty legit, except for Florida's God awful offense. Which by the way, called louisville beating them. Charlie Strong is 10x the coach Will Muschump will ever be.

In the West, Bama, LSU, and A&M all would have destroyed Notre Dame. I would take the Rebs against ND too after they destroyed Pitt. A team it took ND 3 OTs, at home, to beat.

So, assuming they play in the east, and had to play Bama and Miss St. in the west,,,, they probably go 4-4 in the conference at best.

If they played in the west in Arkansas' place, and had to play UK and South Carolina in the east, they probably go 3-5 in the conference. Either way you shake it out, the Irish aren't getting more than 4 SEC wins. I'm no SEC homer, that's just the truth. For so many years people tried to say the SEC was no good, and that the big ten was the shit. Well, now that they don't have the Rose Bowl to hide behind, the truth comes out. Don't hate on the SEC, just because it's great, just accept it. We were denied the distinction so many years because of northern bias.. Now that people "actually" realize the truth, there's no going back from here.

Even Notre Dame must abide

Maybe we should ask FLIGIRL what she thinks on the subject? She always has 30 contradicting ideas on any subject that she can tie race into. hahah
