Honestly love and truth scares me to go in. I feel like I'm walking into a cult.
Doesn't that describe every other church as well?

Love and truth is just more "cult-like" than most. Its a personality cult driven by money and power. Having been on the inside they had systems in place to pull in a visitor and gather information about them. Then the new attendee is assigned to an established group who will "oversee" them. They keep files on you and track your tithing and donations. If they fall behind what is expected of you it is addressed. I've known people who borrowed money on credit cards to "sow seeds" in the ministry because they were promised a "thousand fold return" by the preacher. They also lived beyond their means so they could impress others - "fake it till you make it" faith the pastor called it. Members are encouraged to bring in young professionals who have good salaries, and avoid people that are less well off.

Went to Fellowship Baptist this A.M. where I got to see one man look to the ceiling and sing as loud and off key as he could in a wanna be opera voice. Two more men get up later to talk about a ministry and these men, I swear, are qued by a stage hand to fake cry and tremble their voices just because they talk of the Lord. If that isn't enough to make me sick, I spend a whole hour hearing about a "family" ministry to strengthen families in Christ. It is a need they saw that needed to be met but only if you can pay to attend. Gee whiz.

Pecos Bill.. If you spent as much time reading and such as you do trying to cut Love and Truth in half, you might move out of the 30 IQ range. If you had the courage to take all of your baseless accusations to a court of law, then do so. I know you won't because you are a typical coward who didn't get their inflated ego petted like you want and the preacher did not shake your hand enough and now you go onto a public forum and whine like a 2 year old. What a pitiful person and a pitiful life, and BTW, I know exactly who you are even though you hide behind Pecos Bill.

Excuse me, but I can tell you without question that what Pecos Bill wrote is %100 percent true. He isn't going to take them to court because he has no grounds for a civil action, he has not been harmed, HELLO...McFLY! I'm not exactly sure how he is trying to "cut Love and Truth in half" but whatever. He was whining about anything, he was passing along information. Then you go into the whole "I know who you are" phase when you actually do not know anything. Judging from your level of hostility, if you actually knew with any certainty who he or she was you would have posted their name.

Not to mention there are several people who do not speak highly of Love and Truth. Why single one person out? Seems to me like YOU have some growing up to do.

Ok, if it is passing along information does not mean it is truthful information. I do not go there, but if this " information" is tue, have Pecos provide the written or audio facts to substantiate his claims. 1. Where is the recorded info where the preacher claims a " thousand fold return"? 2. Provide names and affidavits of people who have been told to invite young, money- making professionals to this church. 3. Most churches track info on their members. Have Pecos provide facts as to when people were addressed about missing tithing. Not asking for much here Freethinker. While I do not always agree with you Freethinker, I give you props for providing substantiated facts to support your position.

thank you free thinker. My information is experiential - I lived it several years. The truth is not slander.

I did not sit around crying because the pastor didn't shake my hand. I was busy shaking hands at the door, passing out materials and turning in reports to the staff. Then I woke up to what was going on. I am ashamed of being part of the things what went on there. Maybe I can warn others.

Holy Crap Guest, you are acting as if Peco Bill accused the staff of committing a crime when he did nothing of the sort.

As far as giving me props, thanks but by you using an unregistered account with a name like "Guest" it is kind of hard for me to keep track of things like that.

If a broker takes your money and guarantees you a thousand fold return, what would you do if it did not happen? Pecos Bill has basically stated that by giving to this church, the preacher promised a thousand fold return on their money, otherwise defrauding people of their money.

The majority of the service is just a Jesus inspired rock concert. The lyrics are very, very, and I mean very, repetitive. You could almost call it a chant, "GOD IS GOOD!!, GOD IS GREAT!!, GOD IS GOOD!!, GOD IS GREAT!!, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!![Que electric guitar solo] "GOD IS GOOD!!, GOD IS GREAT!!, GOD IS GOOD, GOD IS GREAT!!" The sad part is that these lyrics are actually projected onto a huge screen, as if the congregation were to dumb to catch onto the pattern.

After, no kidding, almost an hour of this repetitive chanting the pastor FINALLY gets up on stage and gives a sermon. The pastor was born and raised in Africa by missionary parents and does not hesitate to point this out by telling everyone that he is a true "African American", who happens to to be a pure-blood white man.

As far God working there, about the only thing God seems to be doing is enriching the church (pastor) but that is not supernatural. What about the nice lady who constantly prays for God to heal her debilitating birth defect that requires her to use a walker? God must not have time to fix that. What about the couple with the blind daughter? God must not have time to fix that either. Lots of folks out there praying their heart out to God but he doesn't seem to care much about them. I know, maybe if they give just a few more dollars he will listen then. On the other hand, God clearly heard the pastors prayers for a huge house in a gated neighborhood; he heard the pastors prayers for a new kick-ass sports car.

Several on this thread. Read your own post before you call someone else a moron. You want someone you don't know to make your demands to prove his opinion. All while hiding behind the name "guest"

Well, if someone is going to accuse another of improprieties, they need to back it up with facts, I know that is a stretch on this forum. It s used mostly to tear people down anyway and not to see the best in anyone and me hide behind guest and me is so revealing? Wow, read your own blabbering.

You are by far the biggest idiot I've ever seen in my life. Get a life and stay of Topix @ss clown.

I'm not badmouthing anybody or asking them for affidavits to prove what they are saying is true.
