How much longer will TCA administration allow the good teachers to leave before they do something about the problem?

seems to me that all I hear about is the "problems" the private schools are having

why do you pay so much money for private school tuition if there is nothing but problems?

what "specifically" does the elementary principal do that is such a problem?

She does NOTHING except rock babies in the ever expanding day care. Elementary programs, service projects, field trips, activities decreasing each year. Pitiful opportunities for any elementary school, much less a private one where parents expect and pay for such experiences. And to ask gets you a pitiful excuse, too.

If they are paying first year teachers 23000 and every public school is starting 30000 plus would you stay at tca? Tca is about 9 million or more in debt. You do the math. 23000 or 32000. That is why they are leaving

Who was in charge of that school when they went so far in debt? The scriptures are extremely clear on the matter of debt. Who were the board members?
Shouldn't the board members who voted for all the debt have some personal liability if the school is now drowning and on the way out?

They did have personal liability. In fact, up until 2 years ago, the were actually guarantors, but quickly got themselves removed. The headmaster at that time was Mason. He started the downward spiral of poor finances, poor relations with faculty, and manipulating a weak board.

More than half of board went to Englewood and their 4.5 million in debt proves they were not concerned with running debt up at TCA on the same unrealistic growth #'s the projected at Englewood. I am sure current board member Paul Priddy aka Englewood Executive "pastor" thinks it is all just healthy debt.......

They should not have been able to get themselves removed. In fact, a halfway decent attorney would be able to hold them to their original agreement, regardless of what they say.

You are correct! The preschool program is all she cares about! The few good elementary teachers that are left I'm sure she will run off within a few years if something isn't done soon.

The pay is substandard but most of the teachers that are there are there for the kids. They have been called. Would they like to make more money? Yes- but if you ask any of the teachers and coaches that have left recently I would almost guarantee you that none of them left for the money and they would give anything to go back to the way things were before Botta arrived. It's just sad!

You are so right. Unfortunately the parents are still just realizing the damage Botta did. Those being sabatoged understood it but tried to hang on. The majority of the faculty realized it a year later and most of us parents are just feeling the effects. Too bad we didn't pay enough attention, ask questions, speak up, and hold board accountable to take action sooner. However, it's just a reflection of our mentality that either everything will be o.k. or we don't stand up and get involved until it directly affects our own children.

TCA started out on a good note when the school was started in westover. But when the attitudes of the sports came along, it had nothing to do about GOD. Go to a sporting event at TCA and listen to the parents. Take a video camera and listen at home. Some of the public schools don't sound like some of the parents and student body at TCA. You keep swimming in the debt and you let anybody and everybody in as long as they help you tote the note.

With a new head of school coming in next week I hope things will turn around. This year will be huge for the school. Either he will start turning it around or the exodus will continue in a much bigger fashion.

The elementary is about all TCA has going for them and now that is going down hill. The doors will be closing soon!

The behavior of the parents at the games started in about 2005 with the middle school and followed all the way through the high school years. Perhaps it was just a bad batch.

True, but I think you've got a few more years to complete the purge.

Sporting events bring out lots of emotions. As long as they have sports there will be parents who are out of on troll. It's just the nature of the environment.
