Please tell me where the best barbeque in Jackson is and why you beleive it to be the best. I generally base my opinion of a barbeque joint on the pulled pork (most important) and the pork ribs.

If your willing to drive south, Mr. Newsom on Hwy 18 has the best bbq I've ever had. He only sells on Saturday's and its out of his front yard, so you may not want to go there if your the type of person that watches the restaurant scores. He ever makes his own vinegar sauce that's also top notch.

Just my opinion, but I've never really been a fan of the larger bbq companies.

If you've ever driven by there on a Saturday, you know what I'm talking about. He has many regulars.

Just a little past Pope Rd. I'd say 4 miles from Raceway.

I won't be in Jackson on a Saturday so I will have to get my barbeques somewhere else. Where do y'all recommend?

Staying in Jackson near the interstate. I am willing to drive a reasonable distance for good barbeque.

Latham's is out on North Highland about 4 miles from I40. Depends on where you are(exit number) for nearness.

I'm not sure, I know he's retired and his daughter helps him too.

I don't think its him though. But only on Saturdays(in the summer I know its every week for sure) he sets up on hwy. 18 almost exactly 4 miles south of raceway on the left. The cooker isn't but 50 feet off the road.

He usually has whole chickens too.

I drive from Jackson to Milan to get Smokin Hot BBq. It's a little red shack on the left before you get to the shell station. Only had the ribs and smoked turkey. Not sure about the pork. The turkey is worth the drive as well as the sausage and cheese plate.
