<quoted text>Spoiler alert: All these coaches cheat on their wives. It's just a matter or being in an open marriage or being good at hiding it. Petrino carries, and I repeat carries NO baggage when it comes to the NCAA. Which is all that matters you moron. If you don't like him because he got caught cheating, that's fine. But the man carries "NO BAGGAGE" when it comes to the rules of college football. Oh, and he's an offensive genius too. Not spread, but prostyle offense.

Next person that says carries too much baggage, I will scream. Just shows you have no FUCKING idea what you're talking about. Like I expected anything different??:(
Be very careful making generalizations like this. It is not fair to the good men that are NCAA coaches.

Well, tell us what you know. Do you know anything about how budgets at state agencies operate? Please share with us what you know, or are you just going to call people names like a 10 year old?

Todd, I may be mistaken but I thought the free tix for state employees(senators and reps) were cut out a few years back due to misuse and the losses in revenue? I may be mistaken. I do know that every HS coach in TN did have the use of 2 frrebies as well, do not know if that still applies or not.Maybe "Interesting" can shed the light as he seems to have close ties?

Legislators no longer get free tickets. And the tickets players get are now heavily regulated as well.

UNTRUE!!! Stop believing the Gruden rumors. It's probably going to be JimBo Fisher or Bobby Petrino. Gruden's chances are slim to none at all. Something would have to change very quickly. Heard Fisher could announce he's coming on Sunday. Granted, I'm not positive, but Gruden's a pipe dream at best
As most could have told you, including me, it wasn't going to happen. It would have been a dream come true, but it just wasn't feasible.

This is true. I believe they cut this about 5 years ago, when they ended the "Grandfathering" clause for season tickets.

Also, when Fulmer was there, they had an open book policy with high school coaches. They were allowed in the AD offices at anytime to meet and chat about anything with the coaching staff. This stopped when Fulmer was fired, so I imagine the high school coaches don't receive tickets anymore. This was once considered a recruiting tool to assure the best talent in Tennessee would come here. That was just one way they did things, that they don't do anymore.

Like my freshman year in 2008, when they stopped giving students free tickets :(

That may be the case now. I hope so. A few years ago, this issue came up on some campaign/political ethics reform in TN, and someone proposed getting rid of the free tickets. Of course, the legislators went nuts. They hold the purse strings, and they receive gifts constantly. If this has been changed, I'm glad. I can't find anything on the internet about it being changed though.

He's not that bad. He kind of got stuck in a raw situation with the previous head coach, Jim Levitt, while at USF. Levitt was the first coach ever there, and after he was canned, it was house divided down there. That is, with the small fanbase they have.
Look at his work at ECU. He got them back from their worst two years since joining division IA. I don't see it happening, but he could do okay here.
I hear Petrino is the leading candidate at Southern Miss right now. Assuming Auburn doesn't take a chance on him, he would get things turned around in Hattiesburg in no time.
P.S.
Maybe him and Brett Favre could go tear up the town together, if you know what I mean.. ;)
