No it's a safety hazzard too many kids have lost their lives there... what's more important, saving a relic or preventing another childs death?

Can't it be kept and then secured so as to no children get hurt.

he owners cannot afford to maintain the building. It is more economical to tear it down and give the land to the city for a park.

Tear it down it's just an eyesore. It's also a reminder of a great town this used to be.

What happened to parents keeping an eye on kids. Seems like if they were not tresspassing we would not have to worry. Why don't we take all the bridges out and other things that kids could fall from since it is too hard to keep an eye on them or teach them to respect others property.

If it gets tore down they will probably build some projects. We will just have more black folks. Just let it stand. We got enough crime now.

It's not an eyesore. It's actually quite beautiful... I'm not from the Bemis area but I drove by just to see what all of you were complaining about. That building screams "explore me!" and I'm not even a kid anymore. It's a very dangerous thing to have in the middle of a neighborhood. If you want to keep it so badly... get together, fix it up and give tours. That will be extremely expensive but you would have your precious mill. Otherwise, tear that shit down because more kids are just going to die because of it.

I agree, if its demolished lets just tear down every other big building out here! Yes, unfortunately there have been deaths related to the bemis mill but i dont see everyone say lets get rid of all buildings or structures that might draw attention to people that want to climb them! I personally know ones that have climbed water towers, climbed the old pinson drive in theatre screen, etc... Unfortunately there are people that will do stupid things like this but dont let that be the reason to demolish the mill. I do feel sorry for families that have lost a loved one by doing this but none of us have control over what someone does
