I got THREE there and yes there are a few like that but I assure you most are NOT like that. We've been there 13 years, and I've seen pretty much all of it. Believe me, I wanna choke some of the parents personally!! It's amazing what some parents will say and even worse what they will DO.
More are like that than what you think.

I get on Topix when I'm bored just to laugh at people that b#tch on here about usj getting special treatment and how y'all think we are snobs that think we are center of the universe. I agree there are a few parents and students that get special treatment but it happens at the school not with the law and there are some snobs but you will find both of these things in every high school In America. Yes something has to be done involving powers mom and the students but talking on here about what happen when most of this stuff is just inferred from rumors is not going to do anything . Haha You actually think anyone cares what this Internet forum or anyone on it has to say . This is just a way to waste time . So have a nice day haha

you obviously cared enough to respond

what you fail to understand...is most of us don't give a rat's ass that this happened at a USJ kid's house. It could have happened at anyone's house and we still would think the homeowner and all the kids need their punishment.

dumb ass Bruin, the world doesn't revolve around you. The only reason USJ is being thrown around here on this topic is because the prick who threw the party goes to USJ.

I can not care and still respond. Your obviously getting pretty angry. I want to hear what makes you think usj kids think the world revolves around them

You look at the life style of a large percentage of the parents...say 65%, and it is not suprising that they are having drunk parties and getting busted with weed.

The fact is that only a smalll percentage of usj kids go on to ever achieve a very large income. I am not saying none of them do. I am just saying that far, far less than 50% do. Most, regardless of their declared major their freshman year will end up with a meaningless degree and require financial assistance from their parents until they are about 35 years old. And, they gladly accept it.

By age 45 that arrogance is pretty much gone. Kind of sad really.

Because that is the response I've seen over and over again...and I quote, "It wasn't a USJ party, not just USJ kids were there, people pick on USJ kids, the cops get off on getting the usj kids in trouble, why aren't the cops patrolling East Jackson instead of worrying about what USJ kids are doing," etc.

Not one of them has said, "Yes, we made a bad decision. We shouldn't be drinking because we are underage. We are sorry. We know our actions could have dire consequences."

Not one of their parents have said, "I know my son has had his name in the paper on more than one occasion for underage drinking. He probably has a problem and we need to get him some help."

Not one of their parents have said, " I probably should get more involved in knowing where my child is and teach them the dangers of drinking alcohol."

I'm not talking about making these acknowledgements this trashy website, I'm talking about the parents that I know personally. I've heard several of them say: "Well, if they are going to drink, then I'd rather them be somewhere safe, like my house." "My child was at the party, but she said she wasn't drinking." "Why in the world did they give my child a ticket for underage drinking. I pay too much money in taxes, those cops should have been looking for someone committing a real crime."

Is this better? My son has had his name in the paper more than once for underage drinking. My son, however, was NOT at this party, nor were my other two children. Now why don't you tell us ALL the help you think I can force on my son who is legally an adult. I'm fairly certain in order for one to receive "help", one has to first actually have a desire to be helped. Please enlighten me also how I've failed miserably as a parent because there's no doubt I have.

does your son live in your house?
do you pay for your son to go to school?
If the answer to these two questions are yes, then I suggest some tough love. Make his butt get out and get a job and pay for himself to go to school. When he shows he can do these things, then you can graciously start paying for a few things for him again.
If he doesn't live at home anymore, then your job is done. He is 100% responsible for himself. If you choose to help him out, then that is your choice as a parent. You can also choose to cut off any help that enables him to continue to break the law.
No one said you failed as a parent, UNLESS you are one that makes excuses for your child. Wait...is that what you are trying to do here?

Laughing at the fact that no one could conceive the thought that the kids bought their own alcohol. I guarantee that no one at that party acquired their alcohol through their parents. Try sniffing into what your own kids are actually doing. You don't have to be published in the newspaper to be a drinker - your children just haven't been caught yet.

Absolutely I am NOT nor will I make excuses. I do not condone what he did nor will I allow it in my house. I've already said way too much for a public forum, and this is my last comment.

Let me say this as clear as I can.

If one of your sorry azz's get drunk and drive and end up hurting one of my family members,

What the police charge you with will be the least of your worries.

If one of my kids did this, the first thing I would do is smack that ass. The second thing I would do is pay a little visit to the parent who allowed it to happen. Then I'd probably thank the police officers for doing what that parent should have done.

I don't care where they go to school, they are still kids and kids do stupid stuff, but they need to learn there are consequences for their actions.
