WHO cares if they target USJ kids. If they are underage and drinking, then they deserve everything they get. I hope that neighbors who live around all these USJ kids' neighborhoods keep and eye out every weekend for now on. I hope they report all parties for now on. 16-17 year olds drinking and driving should not be tolerated. Parents if you won't do your job then I hope your neighbors turn your ass in.
Also, someone said why are we worried about this with what has happened in Connecticut? When one of these drunk ass 16-17 wrecks and kills you or your family, then you'll know why people are worried.
It's a tough lesson for these USJ kids. This is how they start to learn they are not the center of the universe.

Well they can't take those of them under 18 to jail anyway, they have to call their parents. But there wasn't that many over 18 if they can pick up house fulls of gang members in one night they could take those 8 or so over 18. The same rules and consequential actions should apply to everyone. They shouldn't get off lucky because there are too many of them they should go to jail like anyone else that gets caught doing this. And on not saying it's because they go to usj it's because of that big ass house in that gated neighborhood and those Mercedes and BMW cars in the garage. Not to mention powers dad being an attorney. The kids I know live in the country drive average cars and they go to jail. But these kids didn't. Doesn't sound fair to me.

Are you saying USJ students get special treatment? Are you aware they actually TARGET USJ kids? The cops somehow get "off" busting them. My guess is the same old same old. Jealousy.
They target USJ kids? What a fool. Those punks use to get every possible break. Not so much anymore...... LMAO

At least this bunch of parents was not so stupid as to make public comments like the Mayhall kid's dad.

Although I do not doubt that many of them were saying "my kid would NEVER drink...."

I guess that's why we read about so many parties being busted with public school kids and NEVER read anything bad about the private school kids.
You bet your sweet ass if the parent of a JCM or Northside student was hosting a party at her average, 80K$ house in an average, non-gated community with underage JCM and Northside students drinking, that mother would be on the front page of the jackson sun and she would be charged to the fullest extent of the law. She would be still sitting in jail because the judge would have been sure to make her bond something she could not afford. Guess it's something about seeing big houses and a bmw in the driveway that makes cops get awestruck and not prosecute rich people when they commit crimes. No one here can deny this woman committed a crime. She was allowing high school students to get drunk in her home. Who the hell do you people think bought them liquor??

Do you know where this house is? Guess not. It is is an very average neighborhood. Many folks at USJ are on a fixed income and make sacrifices so their kids get a good education and a college scholarship. Not everyone there is rich. Just saying. Please do not spew from the mouth without knowing your facts. You instantly lose credibility.

Doesn't matter what you think about my credibility. I'm still right. Let the same thing happen to some public school students who are partying at a house on north royal, and watch what happens to the parent who is contributing to the delinquency of a minor. My only point is that upper-middle to upper class people get away with things that people with less money and less social prominence would never get away with. The woman was giving alcohol to teenagers and giving them a place to party and she didn't even get a slap on the wrist. It's one of many examples of the disgusting class discrimination that plagues this country.

Are you completely out of your mind? For starters, the police don't care what happens on north royal street. Do you think those kids over there are all so good and not doing a thing wrong?? Then I want you to enlighten us all with the last article you read in the Jackson Sun or news report you saw on WBBJ about a public school party busted by the police.

That's what I thought.

We're not talking about public school parties getting busted by the police. When did I ever say that every public school party that has been busted has been in the paper? I never once said that so get with the program, please. If it was in the paper every time a party got busted, we'd be reading that shit all the time. What we're talking about here is a PARENT buying alcohol for children and allowing them to get wasted in her home. Get on my level please before you try and insult me and talk down to me. It's the parent I'm talking about here. Any normal person would have gotten in trouble for what she did, but because of who her son and his father are, she didn't even get a slap on the wrist. That's my whole point. I don't know why you misunderstood me, but I never said that a public school party being busted would end up in the paper. Parties get busted all the time where there's just kids there, and no parents present who are committing a CRIME by contributing to the delinquency of minors. A parent buying alcohol for minors and knowingly allowing them to consume it in her home is breaking the law. She broke the law and because of her social status, she got away with it. And that's wrong. That was my only point and it's a damn good one so you're just making yourself look bad by attackig me. You're making yourself look like a supporter of privileged people getting away with things that ppl with less money would never get away with, and that's not okay.

Can't you just hear the conversation between Powers S. and his mom:

P: Mom, can I have a few friends over for my birthday
Mom: Sure my darling, center of my universe child, I'll do anything to make you happy
P: Cool, can you pick us up some alcohol. You know I'm one of the cool jocks and it won't be a good party unless you get me some cool drinks.
Mom: Sure my lovely, I'll just use my alimony check to cover the cost of getting all your friends drunk
P: Can you get some pizza and condoms too. Once we get all these girls drunk, we're going to have our pick of them.
Mom: Anything for you my dear. I'll pick up some morning after pills too.

My bad about the public school party thing. Apparently, I misread what you meant. Moving right along, where did you get your info that the mother provided the alcohol? Additionally, the paper stated and I'm assuming the paper didn't print lies, that the mother arrived at home while the police were there. So what's the charge if she came home with no prior knowledge? Before you "jump me", I'm not saying I believe these sequence of events; I'm just reiterating what I read in the Jackson Sun.

I read on here that the mother left to go get the kids pizza. Call it a hunch, but I believe it.
