Does anyone have experience with Rose Hill? Is it a safe school? I'm very involved with my son's education and I know academics are what you make of it.. just need advice on the safety of this school.. thanks.

Go to Medina in Gibson County. No need for any other comments or instructions. Avoid everything in Madison County.

Sorry, we're all filled up in Medina. We enrolled the last student last week. Madison Co. will be just fine.

If you want to make sure your child repeats math classes in high school due to lack of teachers there sure. The school is on lockdown probably at least two days out of each week and the parents don't ever know about it until after the fact.

They have police officers there at all times because the school is so dangerous! Not good.

Medina is not perfect. It has an increasing amount of its own problems. I would tell the reader to maybe move to Lexington or Henderson Co. Maybe they're not pushing 30 kids per class.

Thanks for the responses. Shocking to hear about the level of violence at this age group.

Anyone have opinions on Milan schools? I have also heard Medina is too crowded...

No school is perfect, what's important is communicating with your child about what is going on in their school on a day to day bases.

My daughter goes to Rose Hill & I feel very comfortable with her going there. We had debated private school as this is her first year in middle school however decided to give Rose Hill a try. She loves it & not sure about the lock down comment because my daughter has never mentioned this. They do have a school resource officer who is at the school at all times & I am appreciative of this. My daughter has always excelled in academics and continues to do so there. I feel like it is one of the best middle schools in the school system. But like the other comment Jackson Middle school was the best however some of the same teachers & staff that were there are now at Rose Hill.

Medina Schools were "out-dated" the moment they opened their doors due to poor site/plant management by all involved. Medina may as well be called "Gallowayville"; he gave in to their pressures and it has almost ruined North GC schools.

Ok I guess I should give a time frame. My child was there 5 years ago. There was a resource officer there then too, however the school seemed to continue to stay on lockdown. My child recently had a job interview and answered the phone and told there was a bomb threat. The manager asked how she remained so calm. She told her that her school stayed on lockdown all the time so she was used to things like that happening. The lockdown is not what bothered us. She never had a permanent math teacher while she was there and with each new teacher they started over again. She learned nothing. I have heard that Milan has an excellent school system.

I recently pulled my child out of rosehill. the amount of bullying by students and teachers was appalling. he wouldnt sleep at night and went from an a b student, to a kid who failed several subjects. i never got through to the office and left repeated messages. i left messages for mr kirkbride, and none were returned. and the teachers that did respond were rude and acted as if the transformation in my child was in my head. i have since moved him to a private school where he is almost back to being the happy go lucky kid he was and his grades are coming up. and so is his desire to actually live. i never seen a school so unemotionally attached when a concerned parent tried to contact them. i didn't even get any kind of response or questions when i withdrew him.

Go to USJ. That is where the good white kids go.

It could be that the emphasis on Medina schools has ruined both Medina and North Gibson Co. schools.

I find that hard to believe, my dad called to the school about someone bullying my sister and it was handled that day by the principle and this was just last week.

Are there ANY good middle schools in Jackson? They all score very low on GreatSchools. Very discouraging!

None of the middle schools are great. At least not the public schools. West Middle would be your best bet public wise

The middle schools suck because the level of caring by the teachers is really high in elementary and drops to nothing in middle school.
