I knew it would never last. The service and food were terrible. Also in the bathroom someone had taken a shit all over the floor

“I am what I am.”

What was that thread the Bessos employees started on here trying to get free publicity? I'd like to read that one again.

As someone that used to work there. I'm glad they shut down. I quit after getting bitched at for mopping an 8 month pregnant lady's floor for her.

Too expensive for this local clientele. Trying too hard to be fancy. People around here think Flat Iron Grill is "upscale," a place that has flat screen TVs hanging all over the place.

They closed because management came in & told everyone they were doing random drug tests & most of their employees walked out. & that way they didn't have to do severance checks

There's more to the story. They can find workers, if they wanted to. If this has been an ongoing issue. They wouldn't have just built onto the building. Something smells fishy.

There is way more than that. And Bessos was going to close because they wasn't making any business and dr. Frix didn't even want the restaurant to move to Jackson. The only one that was tryin to make the restaurant work is dr. J. And drug users are at every restaurant if they drug tested any restaurant most the workers would fail. What the doctors did was dirty and what they said on the news was bullshit too. Bessos had some of the best servers and people in the kitchen. They was jus too expensive for Jackson. It would have done great in Memphis or Nashville. So no the shit bout they closed because all the employees walked out on a drug test is bullshit.

I think its terrible how they blamed the employees on them closing down, and then to put that mess on the news! How terrible! What about your drug free employees? Your lies reflect on them as well! Besso's was doomed from the start! Especially after Chef Brown moved on with his life ventures! The doctors knew they had messed up and telling a lie on their employees was their way of saving "face" within their inner circle and colleagues, who PROBABLY TOLD THEM THEY WERE CRAZY AS HELL!Did the doctors say they made the whole staff take the test Tuesday and shut down the same day? Come on now any person with common sense know if you got problems out of half the staff you fire them and hire more! They KNEW THEY HAD TO SHUT DOWN MAKING THE EMPLOYEES TAKE DRUG SCREENS WAS THEY WAY OF GETTING OUT OF PAYING UNEMPLOYMENT!!!!!!!!!! Ya heard me

I don't think they were too expensive for Jackson. I think they were too expensive for their food and atmosphere. No one wants to pay 10 bucks for a small bowl of pasta at lunch with no salad. And no one wants to pay their prices for meals when you walk in and if looks like baskin Robbins to your right. We need a nice restaurant....but you can't just say its nice, if has to BE nice.

Several issues doomed Besso's, primarily the poor service, the medicore food at premium prices and the tremendous amount they invested in start-up costs. As for servers and drugs-that problem exists in any business and they shouldn't have said what they said on the news. If they wanted a more professional service staff they should have paid them more than $2.13 per hour, as should all restaurants. Tips aren't going to make up the difference when customers feel like they were cheated by paying premium prices for Fazoli's quality food.

Just read the statement - it was due to many factors lower sales, poor economy, staffing and expected increased cost expected with obama care - I guess that was too much for a new business. It takes people to run a business and if most of them are on drugs - I am sure that is hard. I had good food each time I was there but the service at times was lacking.
