People love to hate them because they are a media darling. The sports media need them to be ranked high for ratings/money. Plus they are an independent which means powder puff schedule every year and no conference championship. I am not a Bama fan; not even an SEC fan, but I am thinking Bama by at least 21.

Bama wins 31-9. Keep in mind I would rather see Nick Saban die a horrible death, then anything else. BUt, they are going to straight curb stomp Notre Dame. Last time I checked, UT has no religious affiliations. So that statement makes no sense.

Notre Dame plays nobody. Look at the teams they beat this year. Oklahoma was the only legit win. Their schedule is so weak!!!

I agree 100%. Did they beat anyone that now in the top 25 this year?

They also do the same thing with Ohio State. The BIG owes ESPN a lot. THat conference would be behind CUSA if ESPN didn't keep overhyping it every damn year. The only reason the SEC gets love from ESPN these days is because they have to. You can only deny success and greatness for so long. If Mante Te'o wins the heisman tonight over Manziel. It will have been the biggest sham in the heisman since Woodson won it in 97

You stated you were Catholic and "f the Irish" or similar.I was merely letting you know that I am not Catholic so that it is not my reason for being a follower of ND. For the poster who says "powder puff" schedule, you need to look more closely at the non-conference schools played by SEC-the media darling of ESPN!Michigan, Michigan State, OK, and USC are powder puffs?**LOL**

Yea, I understand why you used the religious aspect, but it's like comparing apples to oranges, and was irrelevant. UT is a public university. You know some of the SoCon teams the SEC plays are better than most MAC teams. Either way, USC is 7-5 with a dumb ass for a coach. They have great talent, but they are not a great team. Not a powder puff, but if that's the second or third best team ND has played all year, then that's sad. IF, I don't know why I said that. I mean definitely haven't played anybody.

UT has really dumbed down their OOC schedule. But this was a Dooley thing. UT hadn't played a FCS team in 30 years before he came. It was not a practice Fulmer used either. UT has generally always had a tough OOC schedule.

If you actually want to compare something, compare this:

Bama plays Michigan in a neutral site game, after losing a bunch of talent to the NFL in the first game of the season. Michigan had the same team for the most part from the year before.......... result: Bama 41 Michigan 14

Michigan @ South Bend: Nd 13 Michigan 6..

There's no doubt that Notre Dame has great defense. But here's the thing. If their offense can't get past midfield, then it will be REALLY bad for the IRish. The only hope ND has is if its defense can turn Bama over and somehow get a short field. Otherwise, the Irish are toast.

Keep in mind, I hate the shit out of Alabama. Plus, I'm not an SEC homer either. I pulled for Oregon a couple years ago vs. Auburn. My point is, Bama is going to steam roll them

How many of those 4 schools are in the top 25? USC lost like 4 games this year. Of course SEC schedules non conference weak teams. The conference has like 5 of the top 10 teams. You need breaks. Every week is a break for the Irish. Again, how many teams that the Irish played this year are in the top 25 today? Answer that.

Mark, I only look at where the teams were when the game was played. My grandpappy taught me never to argue with a tree or 'rassle' with a pig so I will not debate you on strength of schedules. All I do know is that ND's schedule was ranked as one of the top 5 for toughness of opponents and that comes from the bootlicking ESPN site. I will place their schedule as being as tough as any SEC school's when they play non-conference opponents. ND's being an independent also limits them but they like being able to schedule the schools they wish to play. They have played UTK several times and have played Bama in several bowls and won. I do not see too many cream puffs on ND's schedule. That's all I have/wish to say.

Bruce Feldman had ND with toughest schedule while Bleacher Report had them at 8. Bama was rated 18th and UT was 23rd. Number 1? OLE MISS!!
ND was the only BCS school to NOT play an FCS school per my diligent researches.

Curious. Were these rankings at beginning of year or today? To no ones fault, this is why I hate pre season rankings. No one knows who is going to be good until at least week 4. But I strongly disagree that ND had that tough of a schedule by looking at records of their opponents as of today.

Notre Dame had a very weak schedule. I know you can't help how your competition plays out, but isn't that why you schedule them? BYU was a weak team on that schedule, along with Pitt, BC, Purdue, Michigan St. USC was 7-5 for God's sake. There's not one team ND played that will be in a BCS bowl game. That shows how weak it really is.

However, you really cannot tell how strong/weak your competition will be when you actually play them as schedules are sometimes 10 years out. The rankings I looked out were pre-season so we can blame it all on the prognosticators for knowing what the future was in a school's final ranking? Remember,USC was #1 in pre-season and ND was not even in Top 25. A very topsy-turvy season was had by many schools and the Irish were the prime benefactors. Realistically I do not see my team defeating Bama; I am hoping it stays within 10 points; do not doubt the power of the Pope, TD Jesus, and the Golden Domers.**LOL**

USC sucks!!! BYU, are you kidding me?

Oklahoma is okay, but has no defense. Even then, ND only scored 20.
Boston College: Well, this might have been there worst yeas since I was born: ND only scores 21.

PITT: For Chryst's sake: hahah, that's Pitt's coach's name. They lost to Youngstown St.

Purdue: Barf

Michigan: uhhhhh, okay, but not that good

Michigan St: Finally receded to their normal spot in the big ten

The schedule's dog shit at best.....

And this doesn't count Navy, who is never that great. Did Notre Dame play Army too? I can't remember, but if they did, WOW!!

That's worse then a MAC schedule
