Great academic school. Probably best in community. USJ TCA and JCS are hated on a lot by folks because they are private. Have friends that have kids in all three. Good schools.

Apparantly getting arrested for underage drinking is not enough to get you kicked off the USJ boys basketball team.

completely agree with this comment. I'll never support usj for this fact. NO, we won't get over it.

First let me say I'm not a parent of a child who was in attendance at that party. All kids involved were suspended from play for two weeks, per TSSAA rules. Why would you want any kid to be kicked off a team?

Please quote the TSSAA rule. I looked all over the TSSAA web site and I could find no such rule stating a kid arrested for underage drinking should be suspended for two weeks.

I do not have kids in any school but do follow local sports fairly close. The private schools in jackson generally discipline their student athletes by making them sit out games. I actually think this is a positive. I am not sure if public schools do this, I would hope so. However, I think they do this on their own initiative, not because TSSAA requires them to. I know public schools did not when I played there. Thank goodness. Haha

I know that at one of the other private schools, if a kid would have been arrested for underage drinking, he/she would have been kicked off the team permanately. This is what should of happened at USJ.

Good grief who died and left YOU in charge? Who do you think YOU are to say what "should of happened" (think you meant "should have happened")? It absolutely blows my mind the mentality some people have. Please take note this is why YOU aren't in charge of this or probably any school.

I stand corrected. I was misinformed and just found out this is USJ's rule and not that of TSSAA. There's a thought though. Perhaps TSSAA should put some rules in place addressing these type issues.

you must have a kid at usj. They reward kids who drink underage. The kids are still doing it because they have no real consequences.
