150 admission fee and 50 bucks a month. They have 2 pools, my wife went to the open house and said its great. I'm gonna join here in the next few weeks. Hope it meets expantations:)

Price is ridiculous if you have more than one family member! 50.00 for the 1st person then it's 40.00 for each additional family member per month. It's nice but not that nice!

i think the lift center charges to much, but i don't believe it should be free.

there are all kinds of fitness facilities opening around here, plus they have the YMCA

we live in america where you have the freedom to patronize a business or not, you can't demand anything from a private business

Sure, the price is higher than some other places, but those other places don't offer the same services LIFT does. The gym out south is not putting money back into the place. The equipment is getting ragged, the steam room stays broken down, and aging machines are not being replced.The extra price at LIFT will also help keep some of the riff-raff out.

City employees pay through their health insurance premiums. I don't begrudge them getting a break at all. When I need their help, especially police and fire, I don't want them grabbing their chests and falling over with heart attacks!

I, for one, think it is way past time downtown got a shot in the arm economically with some new development. Not everything nice has to be located out north.

So is this lift place a members only healthclub?
I thought it was a physical therapy medical rehap gym. Now I am hearing that it is not licensed for medical rehab or physical therapy and they do not have physical therapy staff to work with people.

It's all of the above, and more....fitness center, therapy, aqua therapy, convenient care clinic, meeting space, restaurant, etc. Members only for the fitness stuff, unless it's part of your therapy prescription.

I work downtown. Love driving by a d seeing the how different that area looks.

ATC Fitness is coming to Jackson--off Oil Well kinda behind Walgreens. They ask for money upfront like an application fee, fee to lock in low rate, etc. These fees are paid BEFORE you begin paying $15 a month. If you added these fees to the monthly fee, you're probably paying a 'average' of $25-30 per month for your first year. Beware of the fine print. Overall, you spend about the same amount as if you're joining a 24-7 Fitness, etc.
