You do not want to get mixed up with the Sheriff dept, and the Sheriff will ruin you're career if you are not one of his crooked pawns!

It's usually a few years , but there are plenty of people that get narcotics based on other situations. Just don't work in corrections. The chances are slim once you go over to corrections and could get stuck. If you do a good job and don't play politics, it's not bad. Avoid cliques and don't let others discourage you . The few bad apples give most a bad name. Best of luck.

I would go to Nashville in a heart beat things will start getting very ugly around there in the next few months. Seems like you need to be with ppl that will respect you and your training the the MCSO will not be the place. They will be little you and make you feel like you ate worthless unless you are a Pawn or have a lot of pull with family in the town!

Yeah Nashville wouldn't be too bad. I'd kinda like to be closer than that to the jackson area tho. Guess I got some decision making to do

I've been in Jackson 8 years. I've lived all over the country. In my job I've met most of the JPD officers and MCS Deputies. There's good and bad just like there are everywhere. I've made some great friends but there are some I wouldn't spit on. My advice, check it out thoroughly before you decide. As on any force there are clicks. Just do your homework before you decide. But good and mediocre and bad, I'm thankful for all of our law enforcement personnel. So thanks Ladies and Gents. Jackson is a difficult place to be in law enforcement. Here's one person who appreciates the job you do.
