So what do you think of the "new Redbones?" It looks like he may have made a very bad decision changing it to a "kid friendly" place. Nothing against kids but thats one reason alot of people went there was for the atmosphere.

Well, maybe now it will draw in a little better crowd.

There was nothing wrong with the old crowd. It did not bother me that others did. There are plenty of places in town to go for "family atmospheres" RedBones was one of the few classy places to go for adults to enjoy just watching a game or a band. He just needs to get some sexy outfits for his staff

I went there recently for the first time. It was full of men--old, young, all without women (of course). It seemed awfully redneck to me, but then gain, with a racial slur like "Redbones" as the name of the business, what should one expect?
huh?

Actually you are thinking of "redtails". It is a racial slur. One that blacks use for whites. Google is FREE!

According to their sign and logo, Redbones is a reference to a type of hound dog. I wonder how many things can be turned into racial issues if we're really trying...good lord.

The many many times I have been there I see very few "biker tpes" men or women Except on Sunday with they have the band outside There are always business people sitting everywhere Bankers, lawyers, doctors, general employees of businesses as well. The food is great and the bands they bring in on weekends to play inside are awesome The Kimberly Helton Band is the best ever.

People are so quick to judge and to jump on the bandwagon

No, I did not mean redtails. Thanks for telling me what I meant though. When I need help from you, I'll ask for it.

Yes, Google is free. Use it to look up "redbone." http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php...

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, which none of you have heard of I'm sure, "redbone" was first used in print as a name for a dog in 1886 and first used to describe people of color in print in 1890.

The word "gyp", which is another slang term for a dog, was also used to denote slaves.

Get caught up, people. There's a world of information out there waiting on you.

And "Gay" back in the 1950's also meant happy, but now is pretty much just a politically correct term for "Queer". So over time, a word's meaning can change. Trying to turn something into a racial slur when none was intended is ignorant.

As you can see in my post (whether or not you can read it is still up for grabs), the term redbones in used in print as a term for a dog roughly the same time it was used as a racial slur. The facts are in front of you. You can ignore them if you choose.

Bottom line: Redbones is a redneck sausage factory anyway. Who else would want to go there?

And for the record, "gay" would be the politically correctly term for "homosexual." Queer is a derogatory term for "homosexual." Think.

Urban dictionary isn't a reliable source for definitions. Scroll the page and your real name is probably a racial slur. It can be if you want it to be since you can put your own definitions. Get a grip. Google on!!!

If you dont like the clientele of Redbones, then don't go back.
Problem solved.

There are other people in the world besides you.
Perhaps you have never realized that.

I did want this to be a place I could relax and enjoy. My husband and I went on a saturday afternoon about 4:00. After sitting at the bar and ordering drinks we found it diffucult to enjoy. A pretty rough looking man, about half drunk was telling a story to others and every other word was F**k.. Another group of 4 were sitting at a table doing shots to the point 1 of them about fell off thier stool. At this point we felt we had seen enough. As for mr "it's like this" many of us adults who can weed out the children post and look for informative information about a place before going or returning.
