Can't help but notice that the cotton and beans look ok to good while the corn is a loss. This summer has been dry but I have lived here all my life and it seems to me that at least half of our summers are this dry.

Our corn is good, non-irrigated, 135-180 bushels; irrigated, 200-250.

Contact REP Fincher and ask for subsidies to alleviate your losses. I'm certain that he will do same.

wow, anything negative about fincher gets said and wham, it gets beat down off the front page likity split.

wasn't that a fincher on wbbj the other night talking about his corn being burned up and threw in out of nowhere that "cotton this year would have lost money for sure". lets keep an eye on that remark and see how cotton turns out for west tennessee farmers by the end of october.

He's not as bad as some people make him out to be, plain and simple. I have talked to him before and he seemed cordial. As for the crops, my uncle grows cotton and he says it's looking pretty good but he might have to stang it once or twice.

Cordial or not cordial does not matter. What matters is that this con artist voted to raise the debt ceiling by 5 TRILLION dollars. He broke his word to us, put the country at risk of financial collapse just to keep that welfare (farm subsidies) coming his way. More than $3,500,000 and counting since 1995.
scrap it

Some one needs to scrap the budget (what budget that may be) and tax system and start from scratch the Ramsey way. But noooo that would cut to many people out. But it would tax people less. Redistribution of wealth.
