To my knowledge this church has elders govern the church. We visited there latley discovered that the congregation has NO say in who is elected as an elder! In the membership class it became somewhat tense when the question was asked. It is my understanding that the elders are chosen by a secret power group. Correct me if I'm wrong but does that not leave the members without a legitimate say in what goes on?

Non denominational churches are sneaky. They claim no denomination so they can make their own rules up as they go. Just think about how 30 years ago you meet for church on Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. They meet now on Sunday only to collect that tax free money and that's their only concern. Heck they really don't care of you show then. Long as you send a check you can be in the exclusive member photo book.

Are the masses allowed to know what the preachers salary is that they pay? Just curious because some larger Southern Baptist Churches ive heard are doing that now.

We used to be members of Englewood and they don't allow the avg church member to know what Ben makes.Im sure you could go ask but if you did you would be labeled a trouble maker. We go to Northbrook Baptist now where it's not so much like a large corp!! Our pastor George Guthrie is not in it for the big bucks.

I've been going there every Sunday for 3 months and I like it. I have never been to church my entire life until my mom said the family should start going. Coming from a 24 year old retired drug dealer it's a great influence on our lifes. I try to get as much as I can every Sunday.

I go to Fellowship Bible. I like it because you can get lost in the crowd and don't have to worry about being judged. The church leaves people alone and I like that. At the top levels with the who's who they can be pretty darn judge mental, but most of us can come and go without someone getting in our face. I Like it like that. Our church is about PR and image . We are bringing in members from many of the churches in town who have not yet learned how to play the PR game!!

I think us and Fellowship BIble have the most entertaining services . The other churches we are draining just don't get it. It's all about who has the Spirit and we got it!!! It's also about not judging. I never feel preasure to conform. I go and leave and no one pulls on my chain!!!

I must come visit this church and look at the young pretty ladies. This old demon has a taste for young ladies. I am your friendly neighborhood prince of darkness. I will slither inside one of these Sundays. Yum Yum
. I don't go to church to look at young girls and nothing I said referred to anything about girls. And I'm no demon, I turned my life around and stopped all the foolishness I was involved in!

I don't think you can separate the message from the show at our church. We pay huge amounts of money to our pastor and our music director so they will GET IT DONE!!! I'm ok with them getting rich because it seems to be the way it's all going. Ex Joel Olsteen. Not certain I spelled that right

Well done! I'm glad you learned self reliance. Pity you feel the need to go to a church for a crutch to lean on.

Billy Grabam is a loser. He actually made public his salary of 70k per year. It's about money now. Ben Mandrell knocks out 200 plus k in Jackaon TN, He does not even make it public to the masses .

How do you know what my pastor makes? He lives well in a 200plus k house and his kids go to private
schools BUT look how many people would be in Hell forever if he didn't do what he does! I will be honest!! It is confusing to
Me why our church does not allow us to know the salaries. We are the one giving the offerings !!
